and what's with the "guess who" girl, she looks even more melancholic than your regular claymore. i bet she's powerful, they all (try to) look speshul.

If you have good weapons, yes. General rule of thumb, an encounter of little girl in such scenario will warrant massive caution, retreating is a good choice in 1st encounter. You never want to provoke a potential major badass without any good weapons.

The great aspect of Riful isn't her power. It's her brains and her overall disposition. I don't want to spoil it right now, but the way she handled issues in this ep was way classy

The animation has always been good. Just that a couple of scenes the way their face was drawn really bad. From the screenshot doesn't seems like it will be like that. Thus my conclusion.

Interesting. One major omission to the manga in the end, but one which kinda makes sense. Again, the anime streamlines the show and removes parts which don't really belong there

I think the animation was excellent, and the use of the lighting was done in a very nice way. Therefore, I draw one of my rare 9s without hesitation.

Note with slight mocking: This must be the longest minute-long lunge at someone I've ever seen *lol* ... but I don't mind too much.

Also, they handled Riful slightly differently compared to the manga, but again - better. They made her quite a bit more creepy.

Eh? I don't remember anything important missing between them. Do you mean between Jean and Riful? Nope. Was not to be expected either, since the scene was shown without interruption before.

Looks to me that one of Clare's strong points is her ability to quickly learn other claymore youki capabilities/specialities. Seems like Clare tried the "Galatea derived youki manipulation" technique on awakening Jean and it somehow restored her...
Could be my imagination though...

As Mentar said, they did not add the parts that were left out last time. Neither the dialogue between Riful and Jean nor the part about Priscilla. Rather they actually removed something else. And here I don't agree with that making sense

to me bringing Alicia to observe Riful was always the reason for the organization sending Jean and maybe other teams. To make them fight against Riful eventhough they have no chance in order to find out Riful's strength.

But it might be an indication for the anime going for an original ending or at least removing the parts they cannot include in this season

They had already removed the part about Priscilla and her ... err, "speciality" from the very episode she appeared in, so it kind of makes sense for them not to include it now either

and anyway they cannot give the solution to her behavior which hasn't even appeared in the manga yet

Oh right, this episode already introduces Eva and her team (and their voice actors aren't even listed in the credits oO; )

Yeah, some differences compares to manga, Riful looks even more creepy and powerful(and huge) than in manga. Animation is back to what I expect, no more ugly, deformed faces. Not just Clare & Galatea, especially Riful was drawn much better than last episode.

Poor Duff, becomes a punch bag. Must have been hit thousands of time by Clare & Galatea.

Overall, very high quality, a perfect 10.

They can put that in a ova follow up release to the anime.

The next arc is going to define whether Claymore is Very Good series or a Great series.
