Dayum, my liver is sexy!
Damn, my liver is into vore... The kouhais of WBC were lovely, liked how easy-going they were after slaughtering and eating those huge bacteria. Poor Liver cells are getting overworked because of the owner of the body overdrinking, even after having a hangover he keeps drinking! >.<

Funimation has the 1-hour special (episode 3 + 4) up now. I kinda laughed when episode 3 decided to explore the body being in arousal. I guess this version really does get into the mature content for the human body lol
It's crazy how the White Blood Cells has to go through everyday really.

It was nice (if tense) getting a double dose of Code Black, even if the bad timing on the subs kind of sucked (I hope Funi fixes that soon) .
Now I'll never have an erection without imagining a bunch of Red Blood Cell works in my little me . Ah, White Blood Cell was concerned for Red Blood Cell! She's thinking about him ! I never thought sperm could look so cute...shame that there's a chance that they never got to actually go anywhere. For all we know, the body was just masturbating. But that's life I guess . Well, I guess worrying about how the body needed to stimulate an erection because he couldn't get it on naturally will have to carry for another day . It's a tough job being a White Blood Cell. You fight the hardest you can, lose tons of comrades, and get utterly no respect for it, but you keep fighting to the very end . Those poor White Blood Cells getting stripped and tentacle raped...they deserve so much better . So I guess the command White Blood Cells button their tops up compared to the ones in the field, aside from the captain who really proved her title by commanding the White Blood Cell corps. with strength and conviction, but with enough compassion to make sure they didn't throw their lives away. It's a shame we lost her . Red Blood Cell is starting to really come into his own, in part because of his admiration and respect for the White Blood Cells. His standing up for and believing in them was really nice to see, and I think it had an impact on White Blood Cell as well. He even managed to help the Platelets . Heck, even Kenn Blood Cell came around in this episode, going from the lazy, complaining, buddy of Red Blood Cell to someone who followed him into danger (albeit while complaining) and then apologizing to the White Blood Cells . Well, at least the White Blood Cells get their own viking funerals out of the urethra . I was wondering what the Killer T-Cells were doing, and it seems this Commander T-Cell (voiced by Junichi Suwabe?) is a jerk who things the White Blood Cells aren't fighting enough and that it's up to the Killer T-Cells to save the body. Seems like they're going to be even more militant and hardcore than the Killer T-Cells in the main body .

I tried watching these episodes on Funimation via three different channels, a Roku, a web browser, and from my phone via Chromecast. In every case the subtitles ran ahead of the dialogue by an annoying amount. I've had syncing problem with Funi on a couple of other series. Maybe I'm living in a time sink?
I've had other problems with Crunchyroll, so I was hoping their being bought by Funi might help. Now I'm not so sure. That said, I soldiered on and thought they were pretty hilarious. Viagra and penicillin are pretty mainstream. Wonder what other medications are down the road. Given the nature of the show, and Japanese views on mental illness, I doubt we'll be seeing anti-depressants, though I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Code Black's author, Harada Shigemitsu, has quite an interesting bibliography of titles that are mainly ecchi and seinen.
https://www.mangaupdates.com/authors.html?id=1553 Like Oretama/My Balls (demon queen gets sealed in MC's testicles), and Megami no Sprinter (MC gets athletic and sexual training from his extremely perverted and sexually-hungry athlete sister-in-law). |

Well, to be fair, it is a time honored way to show a character not only "in danger", but just completely checkmated without having to kill them or having to arrange for a deux ex machina that would divert the villain (and of course, any competent villain should have just landed the final blow on the protagonists before obeying the retreat order).

I am up to date to the manga and I think this would be a more fitting ending theme:

Holy crap, this is the author of My Balls!!? I figured he was big on the ecchi but wow.
As for the fate of the sperm, the fact that he contracted gonorrhea suggests to me that at the least it was unprotected sex, and definitely not masturbation, so they probably at least got through the first step in the search. That said, with the level of disfunction in the body, I suspect this person's old enough that his partner's fairly likely to no longer have any eggs for the little guys to meet. Still, here's hoping. Do your best little guys and give our author another spin-off! No seriously, I think it'd be kind of cool to have a Cells at Work showing an infant's or child's body and all the insane work that's constantly being done to build everything, all the while the changing systems are learning when to fire different signals and at what strength. |

Episodes 3 and 4 were very entertaining with plenty of good drama. The questions and reactions our glasses RBC raise during ejaculation sometimes lead to an existential crisis.
I feel like the WBC's in Black are more bad ass than the ones in the OG series. They have a hierarchy and even though we lost Captain, she and others got a good send off at the end. They did drop the ball and say "Yes Sir" and not "Yes Ma'am", given they're all female, right? So what we know of the host body is that he's a guy, drinks frequently to relieve stress (which causes other problems), cannot achieve an erection naturally so must pop a pill, and contracted an STD via unprotected sex. Definitely not very good life choices. |

As for your question, there's a spinoff, Cells at Work Baby, that takes place inside a newborn baby. https://kodanshacomics.com/series/cells-at-work-baby/ |

Thanks. Now all we don't have is a Cells At Work Puberty. Here's hoping someone does that, maybe even have parallel stories switching back and forth between a boy and girl's body. I'd love to see the CAW equivalent of that scene at the end of Inside Out where all the boy's emotions were running around in a panic while an alarm blared "GIRL. GIRL."

I thought the main series took place in a female body?
