Couple of things about the animation:
-Usopp looking up while his face was buried into Nami's jewels. Please tell me the way his nose looked from that angle wasn't intentional. -Brook's manager having no mustache when we first see him, but later on, when he becomes angry at Brook, the mustache appears again. Mansopp is amazing, Chopper is disgustingly cute and Zoro had a GPS built inside him. Great episode. Oh and Hancock being a Yamato Nadeshiko as usual... me gusta. |

Something I had noticed with this episode... Robin's skin color has become really light, yet back to Sabaody she still had her dark skin...
Normally I'd say it was due to her years spent in that weather, but Robin's skin was always light in the manga... so I'm torn between that and the animators getting closer to the manga. = 3 =

Am I the only who is still surprised that mihawk laughed yet alone smile regarding zoro's opinion of training him? Very uncharacteristic like for mihawk, imo, not that it's a big deal or anything.

great first episode to start the new arc. for some reason the fake straw hats are more loathsome in the anime than in the manga. hmmm... i like it!

Wow, I mistook the new opening for Kageyama but it was Kitadani again. Real oldschool rollicking shonen anisong, I like it.
Nice to see this chapter animated, looks like the quality will be high again. (Mm, Robin and Nami...) Will peek in and out dependent on part of the story (especially for the fights if they keep all those great animators from the previous arc). |

Ah man it's good to have the crew starting to meet up. Hilarious that Zoro is the first one to arrive. How the heck did Mihawk beat a sense of direction into him? He really is the world's best for a reason .
Very good to see Nami and Robin . Also good for Sanji that he managed to get out of hell. Not surprised he just started chasing after women upon arrival. 2 years in that place...a miracle he's sane. Got to see a peak of what Nami and Usopp can do now. Their strengths have gone up for sure and really you figure being in that great shape can only do good things for Usopp. Franky looks funny though with his new condition. Guess he'll convert well to an action toy though.

Don't get me started, there was so much rage when Franky first showed up in the manga (I kinda liked it) but then it kind of grew on people and none mentions it now (until now and next episode of course)

I am really looking forward to the new arc and been giddy watching the new episode.
Been waiting for this new arc to be animated for a while now ever since reading it. Reading manga is one thing but seeing it animated is another. Quote:
The episode flew by so fast, I wanted more but oh well gotta wait.

We Are is iconic.
But frankly I think We Go has more OOMPH. Seriously I thought Hironobu Kageyama was singing this when I first heard it. Originally I was underwhelmed but I soon warmed up to the point that I have it playing during my daily morning exercise routine. |

Got to see a glimpse of Luffy's new powers, so awesome. Does Chopper's stupidity know no bounds, i couldn't take it. I was beginning to worry when he was the first on who showed up, but Zoro is still himself getting lost and all. That scar on his eye is so bad-ass. Looks like he picked up a few moves as well.
