In you neighborhood? Wow. I had to go all the way down to San Jose to get to a place remote enough to fire the M95 with my cousin. It took the entire day, there and back.

If you're talking to me... yeah, I live in the "Pacific Northwest" where its not quite as stupid as California tends to be. Both our families are based in Texas. Both states have long traditions of family gun ownership and it really isn't a big deal (i.e. not the level of irrational demonization that some locales take it to).

Yep, Cali is pretty tight on gun etiquette. Even airsoft rifles must be kept hidden and sport an orand flash hider.
I personally don't believe the public should be able to own firearms, but it's quite evident that the amendment will never be changed; so, if you can't beat em', join em'.

Brown Tip 5.56mm for Short Barrels:
http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htw.../20080516.aspx Enhanced 5.56mm round in production for US Army: http://www.shephard.co.uk/news/mil-l...-us-army/7584/ Corps to use more lethal ammo in Afghanistan: http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news..._ammo_021510w/ Do we need a larger caliber bullet like the 6.5, 6.8 or 7.62mm? Or will advanced 5.56mm rounds do the trick? |

The French presently have no weapons, but they can block roads, airports, train stations and manifest in the streets, destroying businesses, bus stops, doors, signage and light cars on fire indiscriminately when they protest. Would I put loaded guns in their hands? No, I don't think so.

Can we get back to the topic? I'd rather this not devolve into "gun rights" thread. The original point was simply to discuss firearms. I apologize for even mentioning the issue.

I agree Vexx.
This is not a "2nd Amendment" thread. Anyway, I've a question to all gun lovers/owners here. Are the Kvar series of civilian AK-47 clones any good? http://www.k-var.com/shop/home.php?cat=353 I ask because I've been thinking of buying an AK-47 look-a-like and was wondering which civilian model is best.

WOW! This thread has certainly taken off! I didn't think there were that many gun enthusiasts on here!
Our own current armoury contains: My husbands Beretta 92FS (he bought one to stay familiar with the issue M-9) and his Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun. Me I have my Daddy's old 1911-A1 that he brought home from Korea, a Colt AR-15, my CCW gun an HK P7 and a Smith & Wesson snubnose .38 in stainless steel, and an old Remington .22 rifle. All of them are locked in a safe (except for the home defence guns), so the kids don't get curious (even though both have completed a Hunter's Safety course!) If I were limited to only one of the above, I'd take the .45! It just plain works!!

I couldn't even list them all. Seriously. Between my old man and I, we have close to 40 rifles/shotguns/handguns. I hope to add another 15 or so to that list in the next ten years once I get access to more cool stuff in arizona that I can't get here.
Just to give a small hint though... 2x Mini-14's 2x M1 Carbines 3x Winchester 30-30 Lever Actions 1x Rossie .357Mag Lever Action 1x Remington 12g pump 1x Winchester 20g pump 1x Winchester .410 pump 1x Remington 700 in 30-06 7 or 8x .22 bolt and semi-auto rifles 1x Double barrel side by side 12g Shotgun There's several more of my grandfather's guns I haven't looked at in years. They're WW2 era though. And my old man and I have about 10 handguns as well. |

I'm sure there will be other firearms acquired over time but those are the ones that come to mind. I'm only twenty-one so I figure I've got plenty of time to amass quite a collection.
