The best online place I can recommend is cdjapan.co.jp
If it exists, they probably have it. For harder to find items, I'll use nippon-export.com. They're very good about scrounging for stuff.

Play-asia offers free shipping to the Philippines even for just 1 cd. For Cd-japan you have to pay for the shipping cost, but they have some items not offered by play-asia. As for yesasia, their selections is incomplete and typically slightly higher price than play-asia. |

From what I know, there has been 2 Air Gear Musicals, are they different from each other or the same? Because I heard that the 2nd one is only a re-run of the 1st, is that true? If not, have both of them been released on DVD or just the 1st musical? Thank you

Working on the assumption you want to buy a CD for someone very special to you, because you can't ask for downloads as SeijiSensei pointed out, I've moved your thread here. You'll find this thread contains a wonderful selection of links to sites from where you might be able to buy the CD. Have a search on some of them if you have not already. Someone might even do the search for you if you're lucky.

Does anyone know where I can buy Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann on DVD? Note: I live in the USA and it's gotta have English subtitles. (I'm really hoping that it's released for the US, anyway, and not just liscensed)

Gurren Lagann: Breakout! Or are you really asking for music (since this is the Where to buy japanese/anime music thread)? Not sure why this thread is currently in the Suggestions forum, it should be in Music. |

Hmm...
I'm wondering if there are any sites that sell Jpop à la iTunes. In other words, songs sold PER TRACK, for legal download, at an affordable price comparable to iTunes's 99 cents. The more popular Japanese singers such as Hamasaki Ayumi are available on iTunes. However, many anime singers (e.g. Sakamoto Maaya, Lia) are NOT. It would appear that iTunes only sells songs that are on CDs in the American market. So, I'm wondering if there's such a thing as iTunes for Japan? Of course, the site has to allow people from outside Japan to buy the tracks! Last edited by Yukinokesshou; 2008-02-12 at 18:19. |

Well, you can change your iTunes store to the Japanese store, which sells Japanese music. However, I'm not sure how you could go about buying songs from it since the prices are in yen. You can check it out for yourself, though. On the homepage for iTunes store, just go to the bottom to the drop box that says "My Store" and change it to Japanese. You'll easily be able to navagate through because a lot of the stuff is in English. However, it doesn't seem like they have much of a great selection.
Anyway, as for the original question; I buy all my music from PlayAsia or YesAsia. CDJapan is a little too pricey for me at times, mostly because of shipping. |
