This is actually the kind of mahou shoujos I love as a little girl, but I was departed from it to watch other kinds of mahou shoujos, with the ones that are sci-fi themed with dark storyline being my favorite. It was nice for me to revisit my days of lighthearted mahou shoujos for me, I don't think it's something that is filled with overabundant amount of sexual fanservice, it most likely have a bit of it.

I'm just so excited about this anime after watching this PV! The fact it had the same producer as Psycho-Pass as well the same studio behind Qwaser of Stigmata gives me so much hopes for looking forward to it, and the animation is very good though I'm still skeptical about whether they'll keep it consistent or not, since Kunagisa stated that the production schedule is late. Besides, there's some more new characters introduced, so I will not miss it!

The only way I can describe the way this first episode went down is... OLDSCHOOL. It was like seeing the first episode of a later 80's/early 90's mahou shoujo all over again, from the scene composition to the music. It does come across as kinda plain though despite how vibrant everything is.

I'm not saying the romantic relationship between Uzume and the mysterious men must appear in this anime, I'm just saying they may have some romance but it may be more hinted than focused, and that's optional to my book. It depends on the execution adapting this kind of scene in Fantasista Doll. And there's plenty of magical girls whose romance is kinda similar to SM not in development but how they pair the girl with a mysterious one like in here.

That mystery man is totally creepy. Like "I need to change my name, have cosmetic surgery, and move to another country where he'll never find me" kind of creepy. He came acros way more as "evil stalker" than "mysterious protecter" to me.

So this is a new type of a card game.
It nice they raised this kind of anime to a new level. It's not my kind of thing anymore... Use to watch card game anime when I was a kid ^^" It's different, it's interesting, but I think it's more for kids. Skipping it.

I'd say this is a guilty pleasure for me. If I wasn't already occupied with WataMote, Love Lab, and ServantxService I'd probably pick this up. Such a shame. :<....Though I just might change my mind in the end lol

I largely liked the first episode.
Uzume is pretty quirky, but she also feels like a well-rounded character to me. Her dialogue felt natural, and I get the feeling that the writers for this show are at least trying to make Uzume's reactions to things seem like those that a real teenage girl in her position would be doing. She seems like a generally good person, and she's not totally timid, but she can get annoyed and/or scared pretty quickly. She doesn't fit all that well into any anime archetype I know, and I like that about her. As for the card creatures... The main one is really cool, and at a visual level she makes me think of a blend between SAO's Asuna and Love Live!'s Eri Ayase. I don't have much to say beyond that right now, but I'm interested in learning more about them. But what really sold the show for me was the Tuxedo Mask-like guy. If used well, he's going to make this show very amusing (even if it is unintentionally so, lol).
