I wonder what the starter of 'poper posting' and Aion felt like when the n00bness sunk in. It must feel pretty crappy ... cause you think you're the hip man on the block with the awsome n00bbashing url and then you realise how you still suck at the internet. Must be heartbreaking
On a side note Manti has a good eye for that kind of stuff. He's like an exorcist for jiz.. I mean weird stains. |

vBulletin Keyboard Shortcuts
Hey all...
I don't know how many people know of these (maybe I'm the last one to find out ), but here's a small list of keyboard shortcuts you can use within the forum (vBulletin). I've been using Ctrl+b & Ctrl+u to format text and Alt+4 to hit up Advanced Search for a while now. Some of these are pretty handy of you're anti-mouse-click like I can be at times. Alt+s = save settings (control panel) Alt+1 = forum home Alt+2 = new posts Alt+3 = toggles print view Alt+4 = search Alt+5 = faq Message Editor Window Shortcuts: Ctrl+b = bold Ctrl+i = italics Ctrl+u = underline Alt+p = preview message Alt+s = submit message Replying Alt + x = Go Advanced Reply Editor Cheers. |

Mostly correct but a few corrections need to be made.
Signature is too big I see no problem with using the Report button for this. It makes my job easier since I can immediately see a post with the offending sig. The following are interpretations, so it could be just the way you phased it that needs correcting. Inappropriate images There's a difference between "nudity" and "inappropriate images". In the Forum Rules we state: Quote:
What we do not allow are images of a "sexual nature", and that's subjective. So your examples are correct but just saying that "nudity is never allowed" isn't. "Using images to insult another member" are called "retort images". It might be better to split this section into two since retort images can cover may subject and aren't normally sexual in nature (they are more along the lines of "stfu" images"). Huge images Very true, just to add that "hiding" them in spoiler tags doesn't help since the entire image is still loaded to your PC even if you never open the spoiler tag. Bumping/Necroposting Unnecessary bumping is certainly correct but we don't have any issues with "Necroposting". In fact if anything we will merge posts no matter how old the previous thread was. Again, this might just be down to interpretation of what's meant by "Necroposting" but if it's a valid point of discussion then we prefer a post to be added to an (old) existing thread than for a new thread to be created. The following reasons could also be added. Please do my homework for me: Requests for help in completing coursework, homework, assignments and the such like. Intimate problems: Some sort of personal problem the poster wants others to solve for them. This isn't a "Dear Abbey" forum, it's an anime forum and just because we have a "General Chat" forum doesn't mean anything can be posted.(see Rule 2.2). The last group needs some rewording as well. People posting This might cause some misunderstanding so maybe it should be renamed to Personal Objections. i.e. you should not report a post just because you do not agree with the opinions expressed by the poster. There needs to be something wrong with the post (as the above examples show) and not because of personal differences or opinion in say the way an anime finished or it's meaning. People who don’t rate another persons avatar or signature Again I don't have a problem with this but then I rarely R.O.D a post in the example threads you gave. So maybe using the Report button is slightly excessive in this case. A staff member I don't see why you shouldn't report a post made by a staff member. If they are doing something wrong then report it. We are not allowed to break the rules any more than anyone else is. A thread that you think is stupid but doesn’t break the rules This should really be included in the Personal Objections section above. After all, if a thread or post is really, really dumb or stupid then reporting most likely would fall under the pointless threads rule. But apart from that, you seemed to catch most reasons for the use of the Report button. |

Spoiler for Quote Catgirls:
Alt+1 = forum home ...Won't work in Opera... Alt+2 = new posts This one's pretty useful... a shortcut to display all the new posts on the forum... to bad it won't work in Opera Alt+3 = toggles print view Alt+4 = search Alt+5 = faq Message Editor Window Shortcuts: Ctrl+b = bold Ctrl+i = italics Ctrl+u = underline Alt+p = preview message Alt+s = submit message Replying Alt + x = Go Advanced Reply Editor All won't work in Opera... Maybe they work in the new Opera 9 Beta... unfortunately that won't even open AS forums... so there's no way to tell Too bad... Opera actually looks nicer then Firefox (except the damn loading thing)... well I guess there's a trick to this... since NoSanninWa is probably using it ... _____________________ I'm using Firefox... Q. Is there a way to make you avatar appear in the preview... so you can see exactly what your post will look like... it can be very annoying sometimes when you get a smilie on some stupid separate line... or some of the other stupid things... and then you have to go and edit it and edit it until it looks like you wanted it... Q. Is it me or does writing :p sometimes leaves you with the text... as in you don't get the smilie version Q. Is there a way in the Topic Review (Advance Mode thing)... to show the smilies as text... basically so you can copy the post you want to quote smilies and all... Q. Is there a way to make it so when you hit Ctrl U (for example) the message doesn't reset to the first line (as in... you don't get a PageUp)... Sure you can hit any of the arrow keys to jump back since the curser is left there... but it's pretty annoying to have the screen flicker like that... Q. Is there a way to delete your post...

The message you saw refers to the server admin (mb81), not the forum admin. And as to the problem, I think it's related to this issue. I strongly suspect it's something it's actually caused by mb81 in the first place. He's been installing new scripts and the outcome is somewhat expected (i.e. a screwed AS forum). It's a common occurence when he "improves" the severs (without any warning to anyone). I hope he can work out what he's done wrong this time. |

Sorry, but the new Opera 9 beta does not add this functionality either. I don't get to use the shortcut keys. Personally I don't feel the need, but if you do, then Firefox is the way to go.

Q. What are the Option types for the lists...*Now for some useless information...*
..:: Off Topic ::.. *This has been bothering me for a while and I don't feel like creating a new thread for every little thing... * When the forum has some critical error or problem (like The Forum Hack)... why isn't AnimeSuki Forum resurrected from the smelliest pits of the internet... and people redirected there instead of IRC ... since the forum software seems to be set so only posts from 100 days ago will be visible (by default)... there shouldn't be a problem... because it would look like it's empty... all that would be needed... would be to just reopen the forums for temporary discussion...
