Ep2. Seems that this one is a keeper. They parlayed a slight story into 24 fun minutes that just whooshed by. The animation of the faces is funny. The timing -- the pauses -- is great. Machi is a good character, just innocent enough and just determined enough. Yoshio ain't bad, either, with his fast-talking dependability. Loved that easy-chair bike, and the way it came apart.
Really liked the voice of Hioka Natsumi as Machi. Despite her minimal experience, she gave the character a real presence. Hioka-san has a bit more experience with games than anime, and has been host of three radio shows. She's from Hokkaido.

Angry Machi is so adorable in her wrath! <3
And I love how Natsu plays the worreid bear daddy and how Machi is the girl in her teens who refuses to remember how she cried each year when Natsu when into hibernation. xD But if her current information stand is MD then Natsu would suffer a culture shock if she entered the city with all its Iphones and Ipads and whatnot. Maybe it is safer if she stays a Kuma-Miko for the rest of her life.

Machi and that bear has such an amusing chemistry in this show, just so fun to watch them on-screen. But yeah, I think she should of just taken a car instead of riding that bike for the errand.

Even more impressive he implied he can type and print! hikikomori neet kuma ktkr?
Also, that sex joke took me by surprise. Wondering if it's a one time or it will pop out again some other time. Also wondering if Machi actually have another type of miko clothing in the main show.

It's always amazing how Natsu, of all people, is more civilized than Machi, especially since he doesn't seem to leave the town like Machi. The ED mentions Wi-Fi (which by the way wasn't mentioned in the manga), so I suppose he does all that research using the net? Then why hasn't Machi done the same?

It's hilarious how the bear knows more about the times they live in than our MC. The fact that she concluded that UNIQLO is a hardware store and HEATTECH is a heater?
You can't be more of a country bumpkin than that!

In fairness I knew what HEATTECH was since I bought one of those shirts for my sister for her study trip to Germany. But at least, you know, not knowing what UNIQLO is really drives home the point that the only one she talks to is Kuma.

Episode 2
So now Machi is on a mission to buy a heattech from the nearby store as a mission. Natsu has finally agreed to let her go to the high school in the city but she needs to perform some tasks with this being the first one. Machi was so unlucky. First the bridge broke which resulted in a day being lost, then someone took her bike and she was left with crappie bike with an armchair attached (seriously?) which had crappie brakes and crappie everything and broke apart, then she was stuck with a drunk retard who made fun of her the whole way. That was one terrible mission lol. And Natsu that pedobear lol. |

Just when I thought this episode will going to be "ordinary", it surprised me. This series is hilarious. I will definitely continue with this one.
That easy-chair bike is awesome! I need something like that for my commute (but sans the breakdown).

Natsu is literally meant to be Pedobear based on the Tradition. Also, he's lucky to get ride on by a Loli even if she's hitting him with tiny punches. Cute.... Plus, this bear knows how to use computers and most human daily activities... I bet he probably have internet in the back and browse "certain things" *giggles* (I want to be this bear, he has a better life than me...) (also, just realized the ED song is basically about Pedobear chasing after a Loli...) Last edited by chaos_animagic; 2016-04-12 at 13:13. |
