Well, apparently there will be a Haruhi announcement in the next newtype issue (a newspaper reported this, I don't remember which one though). So, if this is the case, I wouldn't be surprised if they announce that the second season of Haruhi will be airing in the Spring/Summer of this year. I really can't imagine them having something as big as Haruhi and this going at the same time.
And, on top of that, this really does look very similar to Kannagi's style. |

For K-ON, it will be success from music.
(I'm sure that K-ON related music singles and albums will be a high ranking in Oricon Chart) Lucky star sold over 100,000 opening single. And each K-ON music CDs will be over 200,000(I hope 1 million for each single, hehe~!) |

Music sales is owned by Macross Frontier, I don't see any anime that's going to sell better than it did anytime soon.
Though K-On would have music, I doubt it will have half as much as Macross Frontier.

Since this is going to sponsored by Ponycanyon as seen from the PV, the possibility that this being an A-1 (Aniplex's fully controlled subsidiary) project is extremely low.
But it does feel like a cross between Kannagi and Lucky Star in terms of art style... Well, who knows maybe Kyoani is thick-skinned enough to invite Yamakan to make the OP or even direct some episodes. I'll quote myself if it turns out to be true. |

Edit: BIG NEWS! Turns out there is no Haruhi Season 2 this April. This increases the chance that K-On is animated by Kyo-Ani. Last edited by Tempester; 2009-02-04 at 19:13. |

Well, my interest has bee picked up by this series after reading the first volume of the manga, so I'm watiting anxious for the anime this spring, which I'll watch together with my reruns of Haruhi, or whatever Kadokawa has planned out.

I'm a bit interested with the seiyuu choice. I really don't know most of them, and I've only just been exposed to Aki Toyosaki from her work on Akikan! |

I don't know where are you coming from, but besides from all the let downs this past year from Kadokawa, saying that K-On would be greater than Haruhi S2 is going to far.
The build up does not equal to the final product, and looking at K-On staff, that the main staff from Haruhi are working on something else (S2?), so it's not like it would turn out to be into a bad product just because Kadokawa likes to screw up the fans, thing that KyoAni does not, mind you. |
