Gamestop/EB games.com, Outpost.com, amazon.com are some I use.
But normally I buy mine from Gamefly.com since you get a huge discount if your member, or Gameznflix.com. They're rental sites, but they also sell new releases a lot cheaper than stores, and its free shipping :P |

Good place for Genuine Japanese Imports in HK?
Yes, I saw the other "Where to buy Japanese games" sticky but that's generally aimed at people outside of Asia so...
I know import stuff is literally everywhere in Hong Kong but not all of them are genuine so, I want to find out what trustworthy places there are. What I'm generally looking for is import game magazines such as Famitsu in Japanese (don't want the Chinese version), console games (preferably places that does the pre-order goodies too!), Manga (JP only again!) and Anime DVDs. I've never really been interested in import stuff until recently so the only place I know is Sogo in Causeway Bay (銅鑼灣). Are there any other good places? And don't worry, you can write names in Chinese because I can read them Hope someone can help out XD

If it's possible can someone tell me where to buy this game or when it comes out?
http://www.kffield.com/cn/getchucn.asp?id=341605 EDIT: Also can anyone traslate the name for me? It's 赤いCanvasシリーズ なでしこ~朱色(あか)のらせん~ 特別限定版(Actually I don't really know if that's the name or if it makes sense.) Last edited by Theclow; 2007-02-26 at 00:54. |

Something like that. Eroges would be a lot easier to get if shops like Getchu shipped them internationally, but it's not that easy, especially when it comes to adult goods. |

There's a lot of stuffs that you can buy all japanese games as well as products
in www.yesasia.com. I'll usually buy all japanese games most of the time especially when it comes discounts during the holidays in spring or Christmas rarely. |

Go with Yesasia. They have free worldwide shipping and don't price gouge like Himeyashop.com. Playasia is alright too, but Yesasia is often a little bit cheaper and Duty Free. Plus Playasia doesn't have free shipping, though I recall Playasia has one service that may make it preferable too Yesasia in some cases, I can't remember exactly what it is though.
There should be no reason to use Himeyashop though unless you like markups on your games ranging from meagre to outrageous and odd item descriptions. Oh and USD$19.00 S&H at the bare minimum regardless of weight, value or size. As is always the case with Japan they have no concept of fair price whatsoever. One final thing, in case you want to use UPS, it's going to cost you.... USD $75.00 for the first item and $15.00 for any additional item and a crap return policy. I can't stress this enough that you are getting ripped off ROYALLY if you use this website. Unless your buying PC-Eroge in which case no matter where you go you'll get gouged so feel free to shop away. It's funny because if a company opened up a site that fixed it's prices to the U.S Market for Japanese PC Games (There may very well be one that I don't know about) they'd stand to make a fortune since no Japanese online retail company would be able to compete with them without lowering their prices substantially. Man, YesAsia owns you. They only say "free shipping" but it's really included into the product. YesAsia does some overcharging ownage on your wallet.
I can back it up too if anyone insists with comparisons, but I doubt there will be dissenters. |
