Full out understanding of ep 0 for a new viewer is hard yes, but basic premise should be understandable.....antagonist Ahnenerbe knight organization with super powers led by SD boss Heydrich who seeks to destroy everything after being introduced to the Eternal Return by the mage Karl.

You pretty much got all the important bits down

It was so bad it was funny. Yeah, even putting aside the fact that I guess the episode is allowed to be nonsensical because it is "episode 0", the funny and low-quality animation along with the funniest dialogue were quite... amusing to watch.

That said, the part where the two girls both get punched for doing the same thing was genuinely funny.
...I assume it was meant to be funny, but it was bad enough that I'm not really sure.

One nice? thing about eroge anime is that you get to see cast that generally don't appear on normal anime. Or maybe I'm just not searching right, but for instance, Sakakibara Yui.

The chuuni-ness of this episode is over 9000! It's almost like watching firsthand of what would happen if you let a story from an edgy teenager made into anime, complete with unintentional(?) humor and non-impressive animation.

As random as this episode is, I still get the gist of what's going on but the execution leaves a lot to be desired and the chuuni lines and dialogues did not help at all.

Most eroge adaptations made for television before this decade featured casts (often made up of well-known VAs) that are almost completely different from the original source, nowadays they just let the original casts reprise their roles for anime adaptations.

This was so incredibly bad and awful that just turned to be funny, this is like a chuuni wet dream mixed with horrendous animation and edgy characters everywhere. Honestly thanks to this first episode I can already see that this series will be a contender for garbage of the season.

That first chapter(or zero) was strange, is like throwing us mid figth in hellsing or Fate without explanation, besides we've magic nazis going to japan for some reason.
Waiting the real first chapter but the series seems decent.

Not sure if you understand what "edgy" means. You can say Dies is campy but it doesn't take itself seriously enough to be edgy

Right in this episode Dies tried to push some characters like the girl that was having sex with that man at the beginning while trying to be kind of "cool" but at the same time it was ridiculous, that's the way how edgy was used here. If is true that the series doesn't take itself seriously or not is up to debate because for now this has zero potential to be good with a mediocre episode like this one.

Are you trying to dismiss the next scenes with the same girl jumping out of the window in a very ridiculous dress to fight alongside the other guy? like c'mon, you can try better than that to defend the series you seems to like for some strange reason.

Well, it is a niche genre. If you don't like the chuuni genre to begin with then you probably won't like it since this is considered by some to be the epitome of that genre, ie. it is full of things that will be really corny outside of the genre. That's the way it is and I don't really plan to convince you otherwise.
But I still do recommend the VN though! Check it out, at least the common route is free on Steam.

For me this was just headache inducing with the dramatic posturing, overbearing sound track and lots and lots of meaningless portent. Was this suppose to be the intro cut scene from a game or something?

I really didn't get the impression this show was tongue in cheek at all. It seemed to be taking the magical nazi shenanigans very seriously.

As a new viewer, episode 0 was quite confusing and story felt like it was all over the place. Hope the next episode will be better but so far, I got pretty mixed thoughts on this.
