a free of charge in the first month...

Does that allows you to return the game from purchase, if a person decided not to continue?

Infact you can play the PC verison with a PS2 controller, that's what it was meant to be played with - the console. So if the PC verison was so more superior to the console verison, a lot of people would of probably go for the PC verison, me being one of them, why waste my money on the inferior product(console)? Common sense. The whole "Not everyone owns a top of the line PC" arguement has no standing, since my intial question was which would you buy. NOW, SquareEnix knows about the whole PC thing with some people and decided to make it on the console as well. Lets face real facts, PS2 (a console) cannot imitate a PC to its fullest, and so they decided to keep everything on "equal" grounds, meaning using the PS2 as the standard and attempting to re-create it in the PC verison, and keeping both as close together as possible. I mean PS2 players and PC players share the same servers, so a lot of the main game fundementals, the core-system as to be the same. Because if both were so vastily different, there would be two seperate servers.
Ok, JubeiYamazaki I have read your statement and have given it some "thought" as you advised, and i used my helpful, logical thinking into what you've said. And all I can say is "What the hell are you rambling about?" I think you're just getting yourself deeper into your own dung. What you're saying makes absolutely no real sense and is all based on mumbo jumbo.

Ok, I understand your way of thinking, you think that 'BECAUSE' there is a FFXI PC and FFXI PS2, they are somehow magically gameplay incompatible and that they ~must~ be equal in order to satisfy the customers. Am I right? Because some people have/like PS2s and some people have/like PCs! Ok, that sounds about right. Square wants the public to enjoy the game equally, so they limit freedom on the PC.

Now, can you use 'YOUR' all-mighty or however you describe yourself, logical thinking and tell me why Square would instead of taking a step forward, take a step backwards. They are not making the PS2 players happy, obviously because they practically have no freedom @ all except the little joypad, and they are not making the PC players happy because they are limiting their gameplay. So basically, in the end, you just made up a lotta crap to give a reason to persuade PC players to 'not' purchase the game because most possibly you think lowly of the game because you did not get what you wanted. Is that right? Because thats obviously wrong because no one is ~that~ stupid.. right?

Also, the FF series is 'not' a PS2 game. It is not 'meant' to be on anything, PS2 is just a way of delivering it to the public. The first FF's, and FF7,FF8 are all on PC as well. I guess I debunked your theory for this one..

If you did not enjoy the freedom given to you on the PC, no need to exagerate it, you could of easily said that the freedom of the keyboard were not what you had expected and that you do not know how the game is, on the PS2 console because you have not yet tried it.

I think we would all be happy with a reponse like that, we got agree or disagree. As simple as that. Rather you made up some fiction and cause a great load of crap. Remember this nxt time, cause i'm tired of typing like this.

Does all this make me hopeless? because i like to be hopeful.

First off, I do not consider myself "mightier then thou" if I did I wouldn't be subjecting myself to peons such as you. (Notice how that statement made me seem higher then you? When in actuality I am not.) In all honesty, let it go. Also, logic is logic, understanding/knowing logic does not make a person superior to someone else.

"hey are not making the PS2 players happy, obviously because they practically have no freedom @ all except the little joypad..."

Wrong. PS2 players are happy, because ALL they need is their PS2 pad AND maybe a USB keyboard. How can they NOT be happy? *sighs* And that's my WHOLE point. Compared to ALL PC-only MMORPGs many aspects *ARE* cut short by its engine. I never said "FFXI ish teh sux0rz y0..." What I stated is *COMPARED* to PC MMORPGs, its simplistic and limited in a lot of aspects. I have *NEVER* thought lowly of FFXI because as I've kept saying for the PS2 its GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OD. But as someone whose played many MMORPGs on the PC, its not as good as the stand alone-PC titles. Understand?

PC: Not as good as PC-only MMORPGs.
PS2: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

And I did *not* get what I wanted, READ THE HEADER OF THE THREAD: "Is FFXI worth playing?" This person is looking for opinions if the game is *worth* it or not, in other words they're looking for OPINIONS, and I did not get what I execpted, but I've explained my points, weither you agree or disagree is up to YOU. But don't assume because I don't like something, I think "lowly" of it, because as I've said before:

PC: Not as good as PC-only MMORPGs.
PS2: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

Debunks what..? What theory? That all FF games are on the PS2? Okay. And you are *right* That the PS2 is another method of delivering the game, and I will easily explain it at the end of my post as to why its tailored towards the console and then transferred to the PC.

I don't understand what you said so I won't try to respond to it.

You keep saying I "made up fiction" can you please state this fiction?

Look, man. This is extremely off topic now, and very recycled. I know you love FFXI that's great, I didn't like it on the PC, deal with it. Now I will explain everything in a very simple and practical analogy, now if you still think I'm wrong, I don't care. But don't post it on this thread since this no longer has any subject to the topic on hand, but if you want to continue this, then just PM me, simple as that:

Now lets say you want to go get a haircut. And you want your front hair evened out because its growing unevenly. What hair length should the barber use in order to measure all the other hairs by in length ? The shortest one? Or the longest one? Shortest one, of course. Because that way all the other pieces of hair will be the exact same length.

The PS2 has the most disadvantages over the PC by far (PS2 = the shortest hair). So in order for the PS2 to work well with the PC verison, whatever the PS2 can handle can work on the PC. Not only will PS2 people be happy because they get to play an MMORPG/FF game on their console, but the PC people can still play with their console friends, for a PC game it is there is a lot of limitations, hence why as a stand alone PC game its not as good as other PC games, BUT you can still play the PC verison with a PS2 controller, like I did, its just not worth my money, imo as a stand alone PC game, but on the PS2 as I've said dozens of times, its worth it.

So in short:

PC: Not as good as PC-only MMORPGs.
PS2: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

I will no longer respond to this anymore, all questions/comments I'll take in PMs.
