This has to be my most anticipated upcoming show. Read the manga recently and once I started I could not stop until I had caught up to the current chapters. Was impressed with how well written and emotional the story is and it avoids the cliches and excesses of most Zombie fiction. This is the story HSOTD wishes it could be, real people acting in realistic ways in an extraordinaire situation.

But that would not be HSOTD anymore The premise was about highschoolers in a zombie infested world paired with fan service. This and nothing else and it certainly delivered. You cannot change one of the central parts of a show and be like 'oh this would be so much better', it simply doesn't work like that.
HSOTD and Gakkou Gurashi are both in the zombie genre but that doesn't mean that they have to be constantly compared to each other. They're both fine in their own way. |

And her voice samples are up. Also... http://gakkougurashi.com/staffcast/index.html Apparently the series won't be written only by Kaihou Norimitsu (it's author) but also by: Kodachi Ukyou (Neppuu Kairiku Bushi Road original script sub writer, co-writing Gunslinger Stratos anime, Boruto the movie, writing Chaos Dragon) Sakurai Hikaru (WAB visual novel series, Fate/Prototype novels, Fate/Grand Order writer, Psycho-Pass novel) Higashide Yuuichirou (former "propeller" company writer (Ayakashibito), Fate/Apocrypha novels, Fate/Grand Order writer, Fate/Zero -Heart of Freaks- writer) Fukami Makoto (Psycho-Pass writer, Yuru Yuri 3rd season writer) Miwa Kiyumune (Steins;Gate novels, co-writing Gunslinger Stratos anime) Morise Ryou (Gunslinger Stratos game co-writer, Gunslinger Stratos manga writer, co-writing Gunslinger Stratos anime, Cthulhu Mythology) etc. While these people are pretty cool and I understand that they were probably hired by Nitroplus (since Nitroplus is credited as a "script producer" and some of these writers are also working on Gunslinger Stratos anime) I don't really understand why would you need all these people to adapt already existing manga, with even its original writer on board. I understand that in Gunslinger Stratos anime case they had to think about a way to adapt the game's scenario but it shouldn't be that hard with adapting this manga series... Nah, just like I've said Nitroplus has probably hired them since it's producing the script for anime.
Since Nitroplus is also producing the script for Gunslinger Stratos it's understandable that Kaihou Norimitsu, Kodachi Ukyou, Miwa Kiyumune and Morise Ryou are working on this anime as well. About the other 3... - Sakurai Hikaru has worked for Liar-Soft company but went freelance and after that have started working with Type-Moon and also written a novel for Psycho-Pass which is a Nitroplus series (also produced a WAB novel together with Nitroplus). Also she has already had a talk with Kaihou Norimitsu and Morise Ryou before. - Higashide Yuuichirou has worked for propeller company and also went freelance and also worked on Fate/Zero (short story) and working on Fate/Apocrypha novels, also Haganeya Jin is his pal and he's already familiar with Nitroplus company (also worked on Muramasa spin-off). - Fukami Makoto is a Psycho-Pass writer and has also worked on the newest Nitroplus game called Tokyo Necro. Nothing to add here. Last edited by Iby; 2015-05-24 at 03:53. |
