*shakes head at last three episodes*
What a damn waste of 3 episodes, i can understand why the other episodes rushed through the volumes of LN but then to add 3 eps of mind control filler at the end....the director must of just been wanting to put Rias in the dragon suit really bad....and loki is a pathetic bad guy to have it centered around. oh well will watch next season(if there is one) just to see more of animated Zenovia like always

I, for one, thought this was the perfect end to a great season The way Issei and Rias's love was ultimately able to conquer all, not to mention the fan service. It truly got to to core of what DxD is about. Given that TNK has pitched a perfect game with all three seasons thus far, in my opinion, I eagerly await season four.

If (and this is a big IF) they have a 4th season, they have already setup a little bit for a new hatchet job. one simple one to see is that Azazel gave Asia the downfall dragon spear just before they went to confront Rias.
Spoiler for Ln 9 and 11:
So either they have to completely ignore this season and take the sources as it was meant to be or they will do another hatchet job. Personally I think it will be the latter if they make the sales. As for these last 3 episodes, it is almost like someone deliberately was setting this up to fail. Like they wanted this to be the last season. All that flash back during this episode is what a lot of directors due when they expect the series to end and want to go out on a high note. It doesn't always happen, but it is the standard ploy. So despite all the talk about being willing to do a 4th and 5th season if the sales were there, these last episodes say a different thing. |

Spoiler for Spoilers for v9 and 11:
It gave a certain level of conclusion to the story while leaving hints for potential sequels. So it can be taken both ways. Besides, in an interview with a magazine, someone of the staff (Don't know if it was the director, scriptwriter or whatever, maybe it was a group interview) said that if a S4 is greenlit, they would go back to the "adapt 2 volumes by cour" formula. |

And there will be a fourth season. Given that there have been three near perfect seasons and how well DxD is selling, there is no reason reason not to. A large majority of fans want it, and TNK isn't going to turn down safe money. As far as what you claim to be indications of an anime ending, I have seen many animes that had flashbacks and there were subsequent seasons. Flashbacks have long been a literary device, and never an indication of what was (or wasn't to come) for the future of the series. |

Rather "adapt". Ok, I need to be more positive here. They managed to insert 3ep of filler into adaptation of 3 volumes and butcher things that they took from the book so I really can't wait to see how many changes they will do this time. It's just two volumes to butcher so maybe this time half of the series will be anime only!

Spoiler for So....:
I really can't comprehend any of this, someone please help me? Don't tell me they rushed through a lot of things and then used the 3 spare episodes JUST to build up Ise's new power??????????? Not to mention even the tiny bit of Ise's development will just be "forgotten" by him until later????????? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE????

Not taking into consideration the difference between the novel and anime, I can still say this was objectively not good. Not sure if I can say it was "bad" on its own accord or not, but it wasn't good. They got too excited thinking how they could put foreshadowing in for pretty much every volume up through volume 20 that they didn't stop to think whether they should, and in the end the story they were presenting in the here-and-now suffered for it.
I was a big proponent of not judging the changes before they aired (and still believe that), but the studio failed to deliver on the opportunity. I'm still sure they'll get a season 4, unless half the pre-orders get canceled. But if they try this experiment again and try to foreshadow everything again, they'll likely kill any further potential. |

maybe the creator comes out and talks about it or something like that... but as of right now your question does not have an answer.

Second half of this series really didn't work for me in particular the last 3 episodes.. The show went way too serious and I lost interest in the fun the franchise had from the previous episodes/seasons.
Oh well, at least it did have some more fan service as a trademark of the series. Wb Rias.

I've seen the episode. Issei managed to rescue Rias by calling out to her, causing her to break the armor and then reunited with him. Then the fake Issei shows up and transformed into the monster. Issei uses the newfound power he had within him, which have blow the fake one away. Thus crushing Loki's plan. Then Rias and Issei ended up in the beach. During that scene, Issei and Rias kiss again. Only this is Rias' third time of doing it. Nice work you two. And then things going back to normal. However, I do find the tv show that Azazel just spoken of, "Boob Dragon", turned out to be a downright embarrassment. Especially for Issei and Rias. I just glad that Issei and Rias return from the Dimension Gap. Not only that, I'm also happy that Issei and Asia won the three-legged race. They really deserve it. As for Rossweisse, she become a second rook for Gremony Household. If Issei and Rias were happy, then I'm happy too. As for my opinion of the third season of High School DxD, I'll say that it turned out to be ok. Although I like the second season better.
If the fourth season comes, then I hope that it will be faithful to the light novel. Don't you agree? Last edited by Chaos-Zero; 2015-09-15 at 13:31. |
