Well, for me this was the most fun first episode of the winter season so far. Yes, it was pretty silly and not exactly intellectually challenging, but it's perfectly aware of that so it's fine by me. It's also nothing new, but when we're talking about brainless fun, who cares? Not me.

Ep 01
Unfortunately I did not find the first ep especially interesting or engaging. Got bored half way through and finally had to turn it off. Dropping the series for now, just did not seem like my cup of tea. Ah well.

Not too bad. I thought it was quite entertaining. Not really smart nor too clever, outside of making a lot of jokes. Most of which made me smile. That said, I suppose it needs a few more episodes to really grab people. The cast of characters has only been barely introduced and there's a lot more to be done before they can become truly likable rather than just funny.
What Taniguchi himself said about this not being a serious show is very true though. If you're expecting a Japanese cartoon that wants you to turn your brain on, you will probably suffer for it. |

Well, it definitely wasn't what I expected, a lot more comedic and all over the place than I thought it would be. The MC girl is rather annoying, but I like how the team basically met each of her complaints at every turn.
It's a rather silly show, but I'll hang around for a few more episodes I guess.

On the episode itself: Not bad. I'm not loving it, but I was entertained enough throughout it. The CG actually being decent and not an eyesore definitely helped with that. Since we are dealing another tale of quirky misfits in a professional setting, I'm guessing that Asami's one is speaking random english for no reason. Could have some meme potential there. |

I was skeptical about this show because it's apparently going to be episodic and I don't really like police shows much either (watched enough detective j-drama for a lifetime already) so I wasn't expecting much, and this episode didn't make me think otherwise.
I think the show went way too fast into the action before getting the viewer to understand the world setting. Visually it was great. Characters weren't anything special (not like they really introduced them anyway) but I liked the main girl. The mecha (suits?) looked great in action and all but yeah, I think it just isn't my type of show. but for anyone into the genre it should be a good watch. Dropping it for now but could pick up again latter if the story gets interesting. |

So we have Tiger and Bunny, Popura-chan from working, a tomboyish Akane from Psycho-pass, the trains from Rails Wars (waiting for the PLOT to also reveal itself) with the craziness from mid-season Samurai Flamenco and Tiger and Bunny but in a police setting... sure, why not I'll give it a chance.
