I wouldn't be surprised if they suddenly skipped a few events to get the Manga plot almost close to the Anime's.
well if they do that they could make yabuki drawing the manga being pointless, because for sure the only reason they hired him was for his "amazing lewd draw skills" and deny him from that could be bad.

To be fair i really could not understand why they hired him, cuz while in the beginner the serie had a little of fanservice here and there, but as soon the things scalated the fanservice almost disappeared in the serie being a little more serious and it make having a ecchi pro mangaka draw a "little ecchi/fanservice" make it's looks like his choice being a bad one.

Maybe because the main point of this story isn't the fanservice? At least, that's what I believe...

that is why i feel it was a waste of time hiring yabuki, it's like hiring a super famous top great internation cooking/cusine chef to just make and sell generic hot dogs in a park, you are wasting all his greatness almost "for nothing", what make yabuki great are his lewd skills them put him in a manga where lewd is the least focus of the serie looks really dumb or a desperated way to sell the manga by using his name since he is "top popular" among the perv otakus.

There was an interview with Yabuki in the anime special. He seems really invested in the project, going as far as switching from hand drawn to digital in order to better draw the mechs. He says Franxx requires three to four times more effort than his previous manga.

looks like it will be a pattern for "original animes" to have a manga going a different route, they having almost the same ending for the arcs but how to goes to that end goes different to make sure peoples will buy both manga and anime or when buy only one they know which they are not just "the same" and if he want the other at one point he will have to buy it.

Dragon ball super is exactly the same, while the arcs normally ending in almost the same way, the path leading to that ending normally goes different with different things happening.

I did not actually expect a fight between Strelizia and whatever 9 alpha's mech is called. Should be interesting to see where the 9s stand.

We should first see if things may go that way or not.
In the Manga, the kids have yet to go to the beach where Kokoro would find the book that changed her forever

Ichigo is a lot more likable than she was in the anime. Her leadership is actually good here. She put aside her feelings and prioritized the mission and everyone's lives.

Bumping because the manga will have major differences from the anime from now on, as stated by Yabuki himself. We can already see that in the latest chapter (37), which has Klaxhime launching an attack on the 9s before Grand Crevasse is taken.

The 9s were apparently all killed by Klaxhime except Alpha and Delta. They turned out to be even more useless than in the anime

Because they make the humanoid Klaxosaur pissed off due to their "Klaxosaur augmentation". I remember that all 9s are augmented by Klaxosaur blood.

9s were confirmed dead in the latest chapter. Alpha and Delta are the only survivors but Hachi was asked to dispose of them. They'll most likely end up joining the team though, otherwise not much point in having them survive.

Anyway, they're a lot more likable than in the anime.

Is the manga better than the anime? since the anime was kind of disappointing in the last episodes.

For you maybe. Not for me. And the copy rarely surpasses the original product anyway.

But to answer your question, so far it isn't.
