*please be a filler arc next* *please be a filler arc next* *please start an entirely seperate story or something and come back to the straw hats later* *please have some promotional episodes for the new movie* *please please please AT THE VERY LEAST, put One Piece on a break or SOMETHING*
I've been waiting so long for this arc to be over, in order to find out if the One Piece animators will try to do something in order to fix the horendous pacing problem. This is their chance! |

They had a lot of chances to fix the pacing problems by taking breaks between so many arcs now, but nope, they did not do it. Hence, I wouldn't bet on them doing it now.
BTW, they did spend a good amount of the episode showing flashbacks of this painful arc, almost to mock us that it was so long that we may have forgotten about most of it.

If One Piece went back to its perfect pace (start of the series - enies lobby), the anime would catch up to the manga in around 10 episodes. I don't see how there can't be future pacing problems. I mean.. We just read this chapter in the manga a few months ago. There's only 4 chapters a month (if we are incredibly lucky), while the anime continues making one every week even when Oda takes a break. It's impossible, (even at this horendous pace) to keep making episodes without hitting the ceiling and having nothing left to work with.
Sure tha manga also had a long drawn out Dressrossa arc, but did we have to wait 12 chapters for Luffy Vs. Bellamy to end? Did we have 20+ chapters of flashbacks? Was there 5 pages every week dedicated to everyone just staring at the enemy or dodging the same attack animation for half the chapter. No, the manga is not very comparable when it comes to all the ridiculous gimmicks the anime tries to implement. At the very least we will more than likely get some film gold promo episodes, that's bound to happen considering the movie comes out soon and we are in between arcs now, just like the last two movies. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to watch and read One Piece until I either die or it ends, but I just hope at some point Toei Animation will realize this is becoming silly. ^and that's not even accounting for the fact that these episodes have to be planned and produced at least a month or two in advance, which shortens the gap even more.
From what I understand there will be some filler to promote the movie (some designs for the arc were posted a week ago), though I have no idea how long that will last. The movie filler they did between Fishman Isle and Punk Hazard was only around 4 episodes. Anyway now that Dressrosa is over, I'm thoroughly disappointed that these "dangerous women" that Dressrosa was supposedly known for never showed up. They couldn't have just been talking about Viola lol Last edited by Mister Twit; 2016-06-13 at 14:34. |
