I think it's like how cattle are branded with a glowing hot piece of iron. Perhaps Mengrozes hand was resting on the chest of his patient when the mark appeared searing a mirrored image of the arrow into his flesh

It doesn't already have to exist(visibly) on the patient. Stigmata pop up out of nothing. Maybe they're very hot the first second they appear? Saten's bandage was also blown away when his stigmata appeared. Chapter 75, page 25, first panel You can see there's a beam/surge coming from the stigmata. Perhaps if he hadn't already loosened the bandage himself the stigmata would've burned into it, instead of blowing it away.


Guess there isn't a byakugou(or however you spell it) on Satens forehead. Positive feedback zero wouldn't be very helpful right now. But he's still covering his forehead with a bandage, so maybe there's nothing there....ora scar of what was there before?

With Mengroze surrendering and agreeing on giving Cruz the Eir System, the only thing that is left is stop Strom.

But this fight is about to end in the worst possible conclusion. I think whatever Saten gave Blade, it must be a double-edge weapon.

I can see the end of this arc in 2 more chapters. One for the fight's finale, and one for the conclusion and the revival of Eve. Agree?

Also, my doubts were solved. Cruz doesn't have a fragment, but Eden Apple? Yes, he has that with no doubt.

I'm not so sure about that Soji. Remember that 666 committee guy(forgot his name)?. His ability was "memory guard", but he could do all sorts of stuff besides that. I'm guessing the "apple of eden" is the cause of that. Chapter 75, page 16.

Ishiyama was able to do a lot of things such as stand on the ceiling, walk down the walls, and easily defeat Mio when not using his fragment. Perhaps we'll see something like that with Cruz once his Eden Cells are utilized. Cruz sure can take a lot of damage, though, since he was punched by Toria several times and even bitten by one of the monster. Maybe that's a latent effect of the Eden Cells?

Now that Kafka has appeared again, I wonder if he'll be doing anything special in this memory. He certainly has done enough by saving Cruz and defeating Mengroze. I just wonder what else he'll do. Perhaps his string can cut through Strom's ice? Then again, we saw that freezing Kafka's strings will break them, so I'm not holding out on that.

On top of that, you can see how serious he is with his body language and his facial expressions. That last panel of Cruz with the "go go go" sound effects certainly means something menacing is afoot.

Also, with Kafka appearing, that's now 6 Simeon people that have saved him since PF Blast. Mio, Setsuna, Kuchinashi, Aruka, Saten, and now Kafka. He sure is popular with the company that's trying to kill him lol.

Holy shit, Saten's badass performance at the end of this chapter makes me forgive this chapter for AGAIN spending way too much time on Mengroze. That's the most badass we've seen in this manga since Saten used the Fifth Wave on Blade way back in January. Definitely looking forward to seeing where this goes. If nothing else, I think it will lead to an explanation of what Saten's ability actually is - there's certainly more to it than has been explained to us.

However, the ch87 teaser lines Kurusu posted above reinforce my prediction that this arc will end in past Blade defeated and Cruz+Saten kicked out of the memory world. Besides, we know that Strom is still around in the present, so I don't see him being defeated until the real world returns.

Speaking of such things, Mengroze is still around in the present as well. Additionally, tons of pages have been spent on his rants and his actions up to this point. Thus, I'm not buying his story that he is completely without an ability. No stigmata, sure, but no ability would be inconsistent with what we've seen so far. On the other hand, no ability Mengroze would mean he'd probably never do anything important again. I'm fine with that, really.

I'm quite happy that Cruz didn't develop some sort of fragment to fight Mengroze's monsters. He's had no combat ability whatsoever for 86 chapters now, but has nonetheless managed to contribute in very meaningful ways. It's part of what makes this series unique, and I'll be very disappointed if this changes. Kafka rescuing Cruz is kind of silly, but I'll attribute his appearance to Kami liking Kafka and regretting killing him off so soon. I suppose he was a victim of this series' grungier beginning.

Predicting a return to the real world in ch88. This will make the memory world arc last a neat year. Much too long in my opinion (man I'm like a broken record), but a strong ending - such as more Saten/Blade/Strom being incredibly badass and less Mengroze being Mengroze - will make me forgive it for some of its flaws.

I think Saten smashed his head into Blade in order to give him his fragment because he saw that Blade had Stigmata. Since Blade has it he can FULLY master the Fourth Wave which is something older Blade could not due to lack of Stigmata. Now that you mention it, Saten gets the idea to give his fragment to Blade after he sees his Doppelganger Stigmata. He mentions something about Arclight's specs as well in that same panel. Perhaps you need a Stigmata to use all of the Fourth Wave fragment?

Btw, what is the ability that Blade has that can generate fire?

And the only Fragment we know young Blade has learned in the memory world is Solar Ray.

The thing about those 6- Mio, Setsuna and Kuchinashi are technically with the PGS, who only happens to be more or less employed by Simeon. Aruka and Saten both have their own agendas that only seem to collaborate with Simeon's half the time... and this is pre-Simeon Kafka. Basically, these six aren't completely devoted to Simeon (who knows what the deal with Aruka and Saten is?)... take any other employee of Simeon, Hatfield for example, and Cruz... well, he wouldn't be very lucky

I see your point as to whether Cruz earn a fragment or some kind of power.
But the fact no change that will happen sooner or later, there are too many clues in the manga itself.
Also, I think here we have forgotten something about Cruz, throughout his life he was always protected and he himself admitted, this started to change after he met Blade and Eve began to use his intelligence and even oppose Sestuna during the third shelter to protect Blade (ok this non go very well, but we must praise him for trying) and even attack Hatfield a Needless to high-ranking in Simeon.
What I mean is .. in a short time as it has matured from the beginning of the manga and continues to mature more and is not so long that he met Eve and Blade has not gone so much, I even doubt that two months are past .
However I have no doubt that sooner or later will have some kind of power that is of eden for Appel, AnN, a fragment or stigmata do not know but will have some kind of power.
However for now I'm more interested in seeing the end of this arc and why Cruz is so fixed on mengroze scar on his hand. (As Avvesione pointed out)

My thoughts:

-Chances of the patient Mengroze treated being Cruz: 75%

-Saten gave Blade his Fourth Wave, but I think they're gonna combine their abilities just like Hatfield & Strom and shot a double Fifth Wave. And then will be when we'll find how much important are the arm-guards Saten wears. The real reason Blade will be able to shot the ability successfully is because his stigmata

-After this, Blade's body will blow to pieces and he'll be left in a near-death state


-Wether this will defeat Strom, I don't know. Chances are he won't be fully defeated

-And then Cruz will come

-After a talk and a series of revelations, Adam N. will born, this time in bone and flesh
