I didn't get the foreshadowing, actually a lot of people didn't seem to get it. And even now, let's face it, it's not exactly the greatest foreshadowing ever or that interwinded with the actual story that took place. He could have pulled anything and it wouldn't have affected the so called "foreshadowing" we got.

Just having certain tropes in there, or loosly meeting certain requirements, doesn't just necessarily make any plot you come up with great. That's what a lot of people don't get. It's not just the pieces that go into it, but how it's all crafted together.

Then comes the anime, where they mention a certain Doranbolt and silhouette his face before his formal appearance.

Speaking of which, and if it's not too late to say this, I wouldn't be surprised if Doranbolt actually becomes a member of Fairy Tail at some point during the time skip.

...The latest chapter is supposed to come out today, is it not?

Well, it looks like a lot has changed over the past seven years.

The boy at the start is confirmed to be Romeo (and his full name is officially confirmed as Romeo Conbolt). His dad Macao is the guild's new master, with Wakaba (who's lost his pompadour and is balding) as his adviser. Droy (one of Levy's friends) has really packed on a few pounds, while Reedus (the round guy) has slimmed. Alzack and Bisca, our two cowboy lovers, have finally married, it seems (Bisca has taken Alzack's family name). Everyone else is kind of about the same.

Fairy Tail is now a shadow of its former glory. A new guild, Twilight Ogre, has replaced Fairy Tail as the representative guild of Magnolia, and possibly all of Fiore, while Fairy Tail is forced to pay rent to this assholish new guild. Just when things are looking down, none other than Blue Pegasus arrives. Save for differing hairstyles, Ichiya (with his long flowing hair) and the Trimens haven't changed one bit, and provide a bit of shocking news: Tenrou Island still exists. Does this mean our favorite guild members have been lost in time after all? Are they still the same as they've always been? Or have they aged over the years (which I'm actually hoping for...)? Either way, I hope they come back soon and kick this Twilight Ogre's ass.

The guild is pretty lame now... a shame. Ichiya and the Trimen appearance was definately the best thing in the whole chapter (my favourite characters from another guild). If they are going to appear a lot in this arc, I'm satisfied (by the way, Eve became hot )
This might be a "rescue arc"? I hope we can see Romeo in action
Although the island seems to still exist in some way, something strange must have happened in order for them not to return to the guild.
I hope that during this arc these guys stop being useless and learn how to fight for themselves. I can understand that it was a huge loss and they are not as strong as the dissappeared, but I want them to overcome their sorrow and demonstrate that they are Fairy Tail. Just seing Macao being beaten by that guy made so upset...

One thing I'm wondering and I don't know if I'm able to express it correctly but, Lucy will keep her spirits right? I mean, we still don't know what happened to them but if they were frozen in time, in another dimension (not very likely) or whatever, her spirits are waiting for her until she summons them again eventhough there wasn't any guarantee? Also, couldn't Loke return to the human world and help the remaining FT?

I wonder what kind of magic Romeo will be using. Maybe he'll be a fire wizard like his dad and Natsu, though I doubt he'll be a Dragon Slayer.

Considering Tenrou Island supposedly still exists, I really have to wonder if all the missing guys will be frozen in time or something, or if they're just sleeping and will wake up older, like Rip Van Winkle. I really do want to see everyone sport new, older looks, especially since Romeo is sporting Natsu's old look; it just doesn't seem fair to just make the "underdogs" (or so to speak) of the guild get the time skip aging treatment. And if they haven't aged, I wonder if this will end up being one of those stories that can be resolved with time travel. Because I really don't want it to end up like that.

I just wish the chapter was longer than it is. So much has changed and we've been given so little to establish this new era that I'm worried Hiro Mashima may not consider this to be a permanent change and just snap back to the way things used to be with time travel. After all, what could established threats such as Raven Tail and Tartaros have been doing all this time? And since the anime is at risk catching up with everything, what kind of padding and filler could they offer to spread the distance without totally stopping or completely changing the plot? Maybe I'll feel more reassured when more light is shed on everything, but then again, maybe not. This uncomfortable feeling is the bane of not having any idea of what the hell is going to happen next.

I actually like what happened with the guild (new master and all)
It kinda makes sense that without it's best and brightest the guild would lose work and members until it became a shadow of it's former self.
You just know that Twilight Ogre will be blasted to pieces once Natsu hears what has been happening.

I just wonder why the other guilds like Blue Pegasus that were friendly with FT didn't help or take in the members.
Then again I understand why guys like Macao would want to keep FT alive.

Romeo's looks kind of remind me of Zeref. There is still no explanation why Zeref knows Natsu but Natsu can't remember him, right? Is Zeref possibly living in multiple timelines at the same time? Nah, that sounds ridiculous. We better wait for new hints before coming up with theories as wild as those. But wow, Fairy Tail has a Sanji now.

It comes to me that beside edolas and earthland,there are another dimension/world like the stellar spirit world or the world where dragons reside/hide.
Maybe the mysterious girl is not a fairy but a stellar spirit!
And she transport them all to the stellar spirit world!
That would made connection between Lucy's mother and fairy tail,and as the main female lead,
Lucy's story and background may be deepen

and just what are the other guild suppose to do? fight their battles for them? sent them money? FT as it currently stand lost all their strongest and the jobs stop coming in because the leftover can't handle them. Once the jobs stop coming in, FT is going to start losing it rep and once the rep is gone, the most promising youngsters are not going to join. Nothing the guilds can do about.

yeah but suppose she is frozen, the spirits don't know when she is going to go back to normal again. Don't they break the contract? Angel's spirits broke the contract with her after she was arrested (at least three of them). The circunstances are different (and Lucy's spirits love her while Angel's...) but both of them are unable to use their keys for a period of time

It's a shame that the other guilds didn't help Fairy Tail that much, but anyways, at least Blue Pegasus is going to find a way to bring back our characters. Maybe Lamia joins along the way (and we see that Lyon and Sherry are married too-)

even if the spirits want to, they still need to get theirs key away form lucy. Depending on where lucy is struck at, that is probably not possible.
