J.C. Staff President: ...and now regarding to Shakugan no Shana...do we have enough for a 26 ep series? Writer: ...sadly no...we only have enough for 24 eps...unless you wish to delve into the novels more... Animator: ...well we could just add more shana-fanservice...that could easily cover the missing 2 eps... J.C. President: ...okay that settles it...more loli-fanservice of shana...those agree? Writer: ...i second... Animator: ...second... Director: *nods* Advisor: ...nay... *silence* J.C. Staff President: ...you're fired... |

Well the anime is licensed so that means the novels/manga are too right? Hopefully in time I can pick up copies at CHAPTERS or something. |

What a pity. I wonder if this is where they'll just leave the anime at, in the Ball Masque arc. Seems like it.
And unfortunately, translated Japanese novels are really rare compared to anime and manga, IIRC. I do hope the company does make an exception for the Shana novels, though.

Yeah, it was announced as licensed a while back, but as for the actual US release, there has really been no word. >.> I hate it when US subbers license anime just to lay claim to it and leave it on the back burner (or in the fridge in some cases) for a ridiculously long time. Have we even heard anything about the US release of Erementar Gerad? That was also prelicensed by Geneon a long time ago, and I haven't heard a word about it ever since. >.>

As for the R1 DVD release, if I were to guess, I'd say early 2007. It'd be pretty unusual (but not impossible) for the North American DVDs to come out before the entire Japanese run is over. A year and half after airing is about the soonest you ever see a series on R1 DVDs (although I suppose that may continue to get shorter as time goes on). |

Kannazuki no Miko vol.1 is slated for release in the U.S. on 2006/04/25.
However, I'm still debating with myself whether the R2s will be enough. :3 Shana = own. @relentlessflame: I think the Aa! Megami-sama! TV was released in the U.S. just 7 months after the airing of the show in Japan. |
