Maybe this time skip will turn out to be a dream. Like how Hiro Mashima planned Erza's entire post-slave life to be a delusion Erza had, but nixed the idea when it meant the rest of the series would end up being a dream too.

It's more likely than him doing a true training arc. Mashima's not exactly big on detailed mechanics of how powers work. So stuff comparable to say, Naruto being taught all the steps of a new jutsu is something we're unlikely to see. Likewise there's a reason that after a while in Dragonball, all training took place during timeskips or in hyperbolic time chambers. There's just a point where it's just repetitious practice to build strength, staminia, speed, teamwork, etc.

So short of an arc where they get ideas for new abilities to work on, there's not much Mashima could do as far as a training arc. Especially as Natsu already has Lightning-Fire dragon mode to try and master, and Wendy has two new DS abilities to learn.

It'd hardly be the first time in the series he skipped over a month or two either once you start adding up how much time the various parts of Lucy's first 6 months at the guild that we actually saw took.

But there was training, too. In particular, it's nice to see that Lucy is aware of her lower magic power, and is trying to increase it. Perhaps we'll get some double summons in the future, then. Rather than "summon, summon, summon, OOM!"

I also found her talk about the source of magic interesting. If love increases it, that might hint at future relationship; members forming up into loving couples (which would boost their magic). Of course, a more general "I love my guild and family!" feeling could work, too.

So, at this point, it looks like possibly...

Natsu/Lucy
Gray/Juvia
Levy/Gadjeel (much as I dislike it)
Erza/Jellal
Happy/Charle
Elfman/Evergreen
Wendy/Romeo (I know, no real interaction yet, but it would be cute!)

*IF* Mashima plans on going the shipping route for love. And I don't think it will be Natsu/Lisanna, due to manga tropes about relationships. And this does leave off Mirajane, but she's already fairly strong; although she might have a more "I love my siblings" feeling. Or might end up with Laxus, heh.

Guys going to peep on girls; so the guys in this universe really DO have a sexual drive! But out of all the T&A, I could have done with out the "A" in the end. X_X

Anyway, back with the manga... Levy giving Wendy glasses was amusing.

Gray getting a suntan? Wouldn't that make him more uncomfortable?

And I'd like to see Natsu doing more specific training than just general shonen training.

And I don't know who is doing this other translation, but I prefer the other one that is normally done. This translation feels like someone who doesn't know English as well. Although the "poor" translation comes out a day before the "good" one.

I love it a day early even if most of it doesnt make sense.

Fanservice-wise, I think page 7 gets first place Gotta wonder how far Erza can train her nudity...Training-wise, I'm really not a fan of the power of love, it's right below the power of friendship in my book...still, I hope they will indeed get stronger in time for the games.

She kept her hair tied up during her first appearance in the chapter, yet she brought it down in her second appearance. Is this a permanent change or is she just being fickle?

Wow has Erza gotten really lax. If this had occured at the beginning she probably would have taken Natsu and Grey and pounded the hell out of them for the entire three months. Damn you Erza and your endless Natsu-teases...I swear if it wasn't established that she liked Jellal, I'd think that she was Natsu-sexual or something...><

And Cana went with Team Takeover...? Interesting... I guess Ever's not worried about Cana stealing her Elfman away. ...

Someone ought to check the raw. I suspect she wasn't specifically inviting Natsu. (Wait, the TL did say "them".) And she said in her first appearance she didn't mind bathing with him and Gray. So, not much of a tease.

Unlike the other girls, Erza grew up with Natsu and Gray so there's no doubt she sees them as brothers in the most literal sense.

Caprico is really cool. He's got this Kuroshitzuji kind of vibe, minus Sebastian's tendencies to abuse his master. I loved the Natsu vs Gray contests. Lucy makes me wish I was ink on a piece of paper. Hopefully they'll get a good studio to animate this (like the one that did the bleach beach episode).

Officially Ecchi. Wow, Mashimo actually had to explain magic for once in logical format, then totally throws it away by saying love and continuing his cryptic explanation.

This chapter would have been fine if Love wasn't the next worse thing to friendship for describing power levels.

However, Lucy has moved one tiny step at becoming competent. So I'm happy, I'll take what I can get.
