It was a mistake. When Hikaru's device was being made, some corrupted parts were used on accident. The result was a smart-alecky gun that could copy other devices. The higher ups are still trying to replicate the effect.

Fighting Style:

Not looking as impressive as other people's, just because he didn't give it much thought, his Barrier Jacket looks like a gakuran, with a red shirt underneath, sneakers, and an armband on his left arm. He got this idea mostly with the help of Hayate Yagami.

Genocide Shift: A spell that inhibits thought and lets instinct run over; Hikaru uses this if he really has to. It causes him to become berserk, and he becomes faster and stronger. Burst Shooter: Learned from Nanoha, he fires about 16 high-speed missiles instead of Nanoha's 12.

Line Stabber: He stabs at a target, then turns back and stabs the target again.

Heaven Asunder: In Sunlight Form, he does a single slash upward using Rocket Boost sending the target up. Sunlight Form

Sunspot: He creates a small inferno under a target.

Lighting Wire: In Skimmer Form, He takes hold of a target with the whip and shocks the target.

-Defensive:
Bubble Shield: Hikaru makes a geodesic bubble that surrounds him and is very tough to break.

Spin Guard: He can spin his Device in a circle, guarding from attacks.

Plate Barrier: A barrier covered by magic "plates" surrounds Hikaru and everyone else within a distance of 20 feet. If any magic attacks hit the plates, they fall off, like reactive armor in tanks.

Purge Jacket: The upper part of the Jacket unravels and explodes, destroying binds or anything else. He needs some time to reform it.

Trivia:
-Despite the fact that he is great at flying, he hates it.
-He likes watching anime, but also hates cosplaying. Still, Hayate always manages to make him cosplay.
-Nanoha and Hayate tolerate his presence, but most of the Wolkenritter, with the exception of Shamal, and Fate hate him.
-He is disrespectful at times, calling people by their first names, or adding baka at the end of names. For example, Fate-baka.

Episode 4 is not lame... It's just...different. The animator in charge of that episode is known for his...unique...unorthodox...approach. Either you love it, or you loath it.

And everything, I mean EVERYTHING gets better after Ep.4. Yes, even after Kamina's death.

And it's no spoiler, since it's BLOODY OBVIOUS from Episode 1 that Kamina was going to bite it, not even questionable.

In its Sleight Form, it takes the appearance curved blade on a gauntlet, mounted on his forearm, which curves toward his elbow. Its AI is male and usually adresses him as "Sir."

Fighting Style:
He fights recklessly, ofthen beating his opponents by poinding them down or with one surprise attack. He doesn't care that much about tactics; he'd rather just go straight through every enemy.

Barrier Jacket:
Not looking as impressive as other people's, just because he didn't give it much thought, his Barrier Jacket looks like a gakuran, with a red shirt underneath, sneakers, and an armband on his left arm. He got this idea mostly with the help of Hayate Yagami.

-Others:
Genocide Shift: A spell that inhibits thought and lets instinct run over; Hikaru uses this if he really has to. It causes him to become berserk, and he becomes faster and stronger. This takes a lot out of him, though, sending him into near-unconsciousness. He has to say a little song when casting it, which is:

Magical Clones: He creates clones made up of magical energy, though they can take a few hits and are weak in attacking.

Gryphus Flight: Wings appear on his feet, letting him fly. He rarely uses this.

Rocket Boost: Activating Sunlight Form's boosters, He can charge the target at a high speed.

-Offensive:
Burst Shooter: Learned from Nanoha, he fires about 16 high-speed missiles instead of Nanoha's 12.

Line Stabber: He stabs at a target, then turns back and stabs the target again.

Heaven Asunder: In Sunlight Form, he does a single slash upward using Rocket Boost sending the target up. Sunlight Form

Sunspot: He creates a small inferno under a target.

Lighting Wire: In Skimmer Form, He takes hold of a target with the whip and shocks the target.

-Defensive:
Bubble Shield: Hikaru makes a geodesic bubble that surrounds him and is very tough to break.

Spin Guard: He can spin his Device in a circle, guarding from attacks.

Plate Barrier: A barrier covered by magic "plates" surrounds Hikaru and everyone else within a distance of 20 feet. If any magic attacks hit the plates, they fall off, like reactive armor in tanks.

Purge Jacket: The upper part of the Jacket unravels and explodes, destroying binds or anything else. He needs some time to reform it.

Trivia:
-Despite the fact that he is great at flying, he hates it.
-He likes watching anime, but also hates cosplaying. Still, Hayate always manages to make him cosplay.
-Nanoha and Hayate tolerate his presence, but most of the Wolkenritter, with the exception of Shamal, and Fate hate him.
-He is disrespectful at times, calling people by their first names, or adding baka at the end of names. For example, Fate-baka.

Hmm hmm, interesting character, and Genocide Shift at the name. I wonder what happened between him and Nanoha... Captain at the mere age of 16 is .

“She… she was my friend…” he answered. “My… only friend I could trust on… and she was the one I knew it was wrong loving her.”

Bayu placed a hand over his forehead. She closed her eyes, murmuring something in ancient language that he could not apprehend. The boy remained still, not wanting his movement to disturb her concentration.

She opened her eyes afterwards. “I see.” She chuckled and traced an imaginary line across his forehead. “My dear child. I guess it’s never late for you to tell her that you love her.”

He stood up. “Mother?”

“It’s time to go,” the woman spoke. “Tell her everything you feel about her. Let her know that you love her from the bottom of your heart. So even if she doesn’t accept you, you won’t regret the decision you make.”

He was startled. Shaking his head in gripe, he seized Bayu’s hand, not wanting to let go off it. “But… but I want to stay here! I want to stay with you and Widuri and…”

Again she put her finger upon his mouth, silencing his protesting heart. “I know, dear. I know you want to stay with me forever, but you don’t have a place here yet.” Widuri and the man nodded, the former accepting the fact with strange calmness. “After all, this is just a dream, isn’t it?”

“Hikki-sama, we’re only a piece of your inner desires,” Widuri spoke. “We’re created to fulfil your wish to live as a family. Together.”

“Widuri! No! Please!” he objected.

The girl chuckled. “But I will still always love you. Maybe not as a Servant, because one day I’m going to achieve my dream to be your dearest wife.”

The man approached him and put his hand over his shoulder. “However you want to say, your time hasn’t come yet,” he spoke. “Face it, son. You don’t belong here.”

He shook his head. “How can I possibly leave all of you and return to my place? I…” He was silenced when Bayu pulled him into her arms, soothing him with her warm, maternal embrace. “Mother…” he murmured and cried in her arms, “I don’t want to leave you…”

“Hush now,” she whispered. “I’m not going to leave you ever. I never said I’m going to leave you.”

“But I won’t be able to see you again…” he answered, zealously clinging onto the woman. “Please, Mother, don’t leave me…”

She pushed him slightly away. She took his hand, put a pendant onto it and clenched it around. “However you want to say it, I will never let my child live alone out there.” So saying she bent forward and brushed her soft lips upon his forehead. “Hikki.”

“Yes… Mother?”

She smiled. “When you return to your place, tell the woman you love that Mother wishes her a happy life.”

He nodded. “Yes, Mother. I will.”

Bayu stepped back. She approached Widuri and the man, who were waiting for her. “I guess this is the end of our meeting, right?”

“Yes, it seems so,” he replied. “Mother, Father, Widuri…” He was struggling against his inner doubt before he finally smiled. “Thanks. Even though it only lasts a while, I will cherish this meeting. I won’t ever forget it.”

Neither of them was telling him. Not even Fate or Hayate; not even the Wolkenritter; not even the Wind Talkers. Yuuno, too, was reluctant to reveal the news, and all they did was simply staring at the patient in uncertainty.

“She’s no longer here.”

He glanced at Armstrong. The veteran Ace’s face was stoic as ever, as he returned the gaze. “Grandpa… what does that supposed to…”

“I’m sorry, Hikki, but the chance of you seeing her is nil,” Armstrong replied. “You can forget everything you want to tell her, because she won’t listen to them anyway.”

“Of course I understand, because you’re my child,” she replied. “Now, would you like to tell Mother?”

“I…”

He gulped. The more he waited, the more the woman was asking him to continue. The more he bought her time, the more he felt helpless. The more he wanted to keep his mouth shut, the more his subconscious was yelling at him.

“Mother?”

She clenched his hand. “Yes?”

“Tell me,” he murmured. “Is it a sin to love someone when you already have a person you can’t forget?” He turned away when she gave him one of her caring gazes, and he started crying again.

The woman giggled. “It depends on your intention on loving that person,” she answered and carefully dried the tears. “But it’s never a sin, because it shows you that you care of that person. It tells you that you care of the person so much, even though you may not know of it.”

“But how can I tell myself it isn’t wrong?” he sobbed. “I… I loved her, but I was never able to let her know…”

Bayu placed a finger upon his mouth. “What makes you think it’s so important to let her know your feeling?”

“She… she was my friend…” he answered. “My… only friend I could trust on… and she was the one I knew it was wrong loving her.”

Bayu placed a hand over his forehead. She closed her eyes, murmuring something in ancient language that he could not apprehend. The boy remained still, not wanting his movement to disturb her concentration.

She opened her eyes afterwards. “I see.” She chuckled and traced an imaginary line across his forehead. “My dear child. I guess it’s never late for you to tell her that you love her.”

He stood up. “Mother?”

“It’s time to go,” the woman spoke. “Tell her everything you feel about her. Let her know that you love her from the bottom of your heart. So even if she doesn’t accept you, you won’t regret the decision you make.”

He was startled. Shaking his head in gripe, he seized Bayu’s hand, not wanting to let go off it. “But… but I want to stay here! I want to stay with you and Widuri and…”

Again she put her finger upon his mouth, silencing his protesting heart. “I know, dear. I know you want to stay with me forever, but you don’t have a place here yet.” Widuri and the man nodded, the former accepting the fact with strange calmness. “After all, this is just a dream, isn’t it?”

“But Mother, I can’t!”

“Hikki-sama, we’re only a piece of your inner desires,” Widuri spoke. “We’re created to fulfil your wish to live as a family. Together.”

“Widuri! No! Please!” he objected.

The girl chuckled. “But I will still always love you. Maybe not as a Servant, because one day I’m going to achieve my dream to be your dearest wife.”

The man approached him and put his hand over his shoulder. “However you want to say, your time hasn’t come yet,” he spoke. “Face it, son. You don’t belong here.”

He shook his head. “How can I possibly leave all of you and return to my place? I…” He was silenced when Bayu pulled him into her arms, soothing him with her warm, maternal embrace. “Mother…” he murmured and cried in her arms, “I don’t want to leave you…”

“Hush now,” she whispered. “I’m not going to leave you ever. I never said I’m going to leave you.”

“But I won’t be able to see you again…” he answered, zealously clinging onto the woman. “Please, Mother, don’t leave me…”

She pushed him slightly away. She took his hand, put a pendant onto it and clenched it around. “However you want to say it, I will never let my child live alone out there.” So saying she bent forward and brushed her soft lips upon his forehead. “Hikki.”

“Yes… Mother?”

She smiled. “When you return to your place, tell the woman you love that Mother wishes her a happy life.”

He nodded. “Yes, Mother. I will.”

Bayu stepped back. She approached Widuri and the man, who were waiting for her. “I guess this is the end of our meeting, right?”

“Yes, it seems so,” he replied. “Mother, Father, Widuri…” He was struggling against his inner doubt before he finally smiled. “Thanks. Even though it only lasts a while, I will cherish this meeting. I won’t ever forget it.”

Bayu chuckled. “Of course you won’t. After all, we’re family, right?”

Widuri lifted her hand. “Until we meet again, Hikki-sama.”

He copied the gesture. “We will, Widuri, and you better learn some manners until that time comes. Okay?”

The girl bashfully laughed. “Haii.”

He later turned to the man. “Father, I… I won’t ever blame you for everything you had done until now. Just… don’t make Mother sad, please.”

The man nodded.

“Remember, Hikki,” Bayu spoke as the family began to fade from vision. “I will always be inside your heart. I will always love you. Zutto…”

The pungent scent of medicines was the first thing that greeted him. It was the sign that his feet was still standing on the real world. He opened his eyes, realizing he was lying on the bed with apparatus tied all over him. He glanced to the windows, noticing that morning had arrived.

He noted several people looking down at him. He looked up at them, and barely had the strength to say one of their names. “Fate… what day is it?”

The woman could barely hold her emotion when she took his hand, lightly clenching it. “Welcome back… Hikki…”

“Fate…” Weakly he rose from his prone position, helped by Fate and Hayate as he got up from the bed. “Where’s… Nanoha? I must… see her…”

Neither of them was telling him. Not even Fate or Hayate; not even the Wolkenritter; not even the Wind Talkers. Yuuno, too, was reluctant to reveal the news, and all they did was simply staring at the patient in uncertainty.

“She’s no longer here.”

He glanced at Armstrong. The veteran Ace’s face was stoic as ever, as he returned the gaze. “Grandpa… what does that supposed to…”

“I’m sorry, Hikki, but the chance of you seeing her is nil,” Armstrong replied. “You can forget everything you want to tell her, because she won’t listen to them anyway.”

The girls protested at first, but then they heard a sombre-sounding chuckle. They looked back at him, noticing how melancholic his drooping gaze was. “So she’s not here anyway…” he murmured. “All efforts have come to nothing… it’s all nothing…”

“Come on, everyone,” Hayate ushered. They nodded, and quietly they walked out, leaving him in solitude. Fate was the last person to leave, saying nothing as she stared at him in sadness.

“I’m sorry, Hikki…”

The door closed. The Wind Talker was now alone, enveloped in unexplained amounts of grief. He shivered, unable to bear his broken heart any longer.

He clutched the pendant.

He cried.

“Mother… I’m sorry… I won’t be able to…”
