They are really upping the pace for the final season, back in the day they would easily pad out them reaching Avatar for a good episode or two more but I guess this is the advantage of not having an ongoing manga to risk overtaking.

That was the most idiotic thing Happy did. It was unforgivable, even if the author tried to downplay it and give some sappy reason for it. Happy potentially caused the destruction of his nation and possibly the world. Well, of course the author will make up something later on to fix all this, but at the current story line, what Happy did was unforgivable, especially to all the lives that have been lost and will be lost.

I get your point but, in a meta sense, Happy's actions make perfect sense. If Natsu were to sacrifice himself here what would happen to the story? Would Hiro need to come up with some deus ex machina to revive him? Would the story suddenly end? It wouldn't make sense for the arc to finish that way so it didn't, that's basically all there is to it. That's why last week they mentioned that Happy was with Natsu, he was there solely to keep the plot going by appealing to the usual "Nakama power" that always drove the series.
Does that mean that I disagree with you? Not at all but I can also see why letting the things play out in the obvious "best" way might lead to an unsatisfying conclusion to the series.

Well, uhh... That's kind of blunt and obvious out of the blue with the whole Erza and Scarlet Spriggin 12 woman. I guess that settles how the strongest woman in Spriggin 12 will be "defeated". I'm beginning to think that the author was just tired of Fairy Tail at this point and just wanted to get the manga over with.

That was second time that I thought the story has turned idiotic. Gray was an absolute idiot this episode, maybe even more idiotic than Happy being an idiot before. So Natsu, as END, wants to go kill the enemy leader who is currently invading the country killing all their friends. That might end the war, but nope, Gray has to go and try to kill Natsu. And then what?
On top of that, if Natsu kept moving (considering how quickly Erza got there, so they weren't that far from the main battlefield), then Natsu and Gray could have helped out on the battlefield, which might have changed the strategy instead of Makarov sacrificing himself. Gray was an absolute idiot. Other than that, Makarov's sacrifice was very touching.

The story continues onward. I guess it is nice that Sting gets to step up and we're getting some more backstory on things. I don't know. It just really feels as if the creator was done with this story but had to write a real conclusion.
We have gotten some good moments lately. Erza breaking up that stupid fight was probably one of the best moments of this final season. It felt like Fairy Tail. Those character driven moments are when the show is at its best.

Hey if nothing else...it was kind of cool for Wendy to get a moment to shine. Oh sure Erza has to get the last hits in, but at least there was some good chances for Wendy. She single-handedly pulled off a crazy move to snatch a free body while hers was being stolen and then just took her body back after. Props to her for pulling that off.

That was quite a disappointing end to August. Essentially, he killed himself. However, the most disappointing part of all is that he died as if he never existed, meaning Mavis and Zeref did not even know that he was their son. Mavis didn't even get to hug him. It's sad in a way.
This final season is beginning to show a lot of disappointing aspects, since it seems like the author just wants to finish the series now instead of fleshing through the story for the ending. He just wants to close up all the plot points and introduce things all of a sudden for whatever reasons he wants (Lucy's mom at the end there?). Well, it will be over soon, I guess.

Wait is this really how the big bad Acnologia gets done with? After hyping him up for almost as long as Zeref they end up just pushing him into a hole and that's it? Damn, Fairy Tail really went downhill for this last arc. Hiro really had no idea what to do anymore I reckon. Let's see what the show gives us next, hopefully the Zeref stuff can still be handled with some dignity.
