I'm surprised on how much they're focusing on how Ryuuguu Komachi is being produced, but none of the other idols show signs of that. Darn it, Producer, get your act together!
Also, this was a really nice episode, as always. Even if Ami and Mami aren't my favorite characters, they still made the episode really fun. I liked the talk in the car about producing Mami and how Ami and Mami were mirroring what each other was saying throughout the show. Edit: I didn't realize how great of a singer Takahashi Chiaki was until episode 8, to be honest, when they played the insert songs. I loved Hare Iro, so I looked for more, and I found Tsubasa wo Kudasai. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7200616 Chihaya and Azusa make for a great singing pair. You know, I wasn't really expecting that much from this anime. I was expecting it to be the usual commercial product who banked its selling points on the already existing videogame fanbase, and on the exploitation of its many cute female characters... and I was fine with that.
But I have actually enjoyed a lot the latest episodes. This series is surprisingly very good.

Hrm ... well, I saw iM@S ep 9 and was not as engaged in it as much as the previous 2 eps. Still pretty good, though, so a 7/10 vote for the ep from me.
I think part of the issue for me is not being able to ... "relate", I guess? ... to the twins that much. At the moment they seem kinda "blank" with regards to either background material or who they are individually. Don't get me wrong - they are fine and entertaining to watch and the rest, but in comparison with many of the other idols on the show they seem "lacking" in details to me. Could just be me, though. Ah well.

Naturally, the idols which don't have very interesting back stories are the ones with the slapstick episodes. Makoto and Azusa aren't all that interesting either but they had a great episode.
Other than the nicknames they have for the other idols, the Futami Twins aren't all that interesting. Which is why it's pleasantly surprising that they ended up with one of the best episodes in the show so far. |
