That only took into account sales for the first day. (The week closed on the first) When sales from the 2nd-8th are included it sold 12,222 physical copies. That puts it ahead of volume 11 and just under volume 10 for "first week sales". As others have said, the digital sales is where Shinmai really makes its money.

Wow, even DxD a series which has got 4th season and 25 volumes only has 4 millions something of total sell, while Shinmai could reach 2 millions with half of the total volume of dxd. Never thought Shimai could sell so well

No, because for Shinmai half of the total number is from the manga since the manga sold as much as the LN. For DxD, the LN makes up most of the total number as the manga doesn't sell as well as the LN. By my estimate, Shinmai LN volumes on average sold half of how much DxD volumes sold on average which is consistent with Oricon's results.

In addition Shinmai has sold 2,3 million over 12 volumes, consistently ranks highly in sales and creates a hell of a lot more threads on Japanese boards. While interest in DxD has fizzled out over the years and it has sold 4,4 mill over 25 volumes and like 5 SS volumes.
