8.6 has some crew voice readjustments so some of the old crew mods don't work anymore. While using the default, I've noticed something: was the default voice always in the language of your UI? Or is it a new thing? Right now I hear a fast-talking Japanese guy when I drive my tanks.

The new patch has really improved sniping tanks. I took my SU101 out for a drive and did 5000 damage.

Apparently not true, as one of the major complaints right now in the fora is that the playerbase HAS been split in two, with around 5k players in the West Coast servers, while 15k in the old EC servers. The only thing that connects players of the same clan together right now is the Clan Chat.

Yes, but you can pick whichever server to log on upon the log-in screen yes?

I haven't tried it but thats what I've heard. If that is true, I don't really care... I can always just log on the East Coast server.

Uwaah, what a casual and blase response.

I likely won't be able to check myself until perhaps later this week, but any significant reduction in ping rate will mean a lot for me. Frankly the game's unplayable at times because of it.

If there's no ping reduction however, no need for me to not stick around in the EC server cluster.

Also, who is buying an...

EXCELSIOR!

...around here? (I really don't need one, but I like saying EXCELSIOR.)

And I saw the amusing and practical comment of "Why didn't they just make a single US server cluster in the Midwest?"

Then just log onto the E. Coast or W. Coast server whenever there is an event. Or choose a server when there is a platoon.

I don't really see this as a problem myself. Not even sure if it will help ping much, because I am at the far end of the W. Coast and I have less than 80 ping logging in on a good day.

What I wrote over at the WoT forums:

So, I'm one of those people who plays WoT on a laptop, with sub-20 fps and 200+ ping. With the cluster split, I was automatically sent to West..... and it became 30 fps and 80 ping. What a difference in game play.

Quite nice, if you ask me.

Regarding the West Coach switch, frankly ANY reduction in ping rate will be welcome. My FPS is fine enough as it is.

Excelsior sounds tempting, however, I don't have any plans for the UK heavy line.

And man, as I told Kimi earlier, someone from Relic uploaded replay of a 1900 exp game with a B1 recently, and on a pub game at that. Ugh.

... and I barely hit about 900 on a good game on the B1 with premium.

Yeah, getting high scores with the B1 is hard, especially when the experience system the game uses puts a premium on damage-dealing, and even with its ROF the B1 has piddling damage. And now post-update we have arty equal to its tier added to the equation. Yikes.

By the way, the 1900-exp B1 game the guy had 7 kills, a whole lot of spotting damage on Widepark, of all places, plus the victory bonus. Sheesh.

Hmm, if you sit yourself in the middle of the map on Widepark and the teams are lopsided such that no one shoots at you, you could get quite a bit of spotting damage since most of the map is visible...

Well yeah, but this was on a B1, which has literally no gun dep. That what makes it so surprising, and on a pub match at that. There was also a bit of luck involved I suppose, as the two hetzers on the opposing team chose to ignore the B1 until the last minute, and even when one of the hetzers chased the B1 down, it was stupid enough not to turn quickly enough as the B1 circled it.

All the sound effect are pretty insignificant now. Bouncing/getting hit by high caliber guns now sound like clicking a pen.

No gold 4 jew. Wonder if ES will get better at playing since he complains about the trees in wot making his fps drop. well i drop too sometimes. So i know his pain about playing on a laptop with wifi connection. But oddly enough I have surpassed sempai ES-san. ES you should find a good Saten-san avatar.

Louise was reporting that Sacred Valley was murdering her framerate, though.

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

It has some interesting sniping locations and a decent amount of mid-cover, but yeah, trees, trees everywhere.

To me, it's more like the shells hitting armor now sound like wood knocking against wood rather than high-speed AP rounds hitting steel.
