Episode 64:
Seems more like a lot of recap and analysis for this episode especially the first half. I kinda like the development of the story right now considering it revisits events previously (the invasion) but also focuses more on the upcoming Rank Wars. Not bad. Looking forward to more of this despite some of the sluggish pacing. It'll be interesting to see how much Osamu and the others improved. I think it's also obvious that Osamu realizes how much others relies on Kuga.

Back to the plot!
And we get a review the past arc before the last arc episode. Well, makes sense after the Ergatis arc some might have forgotten what happened a couple months ago. :P Also that ending. That "spoiler" Rad sure is black and horny, I wonder who it could be? xD And Osamu feels down because he isn't as useful as Yuuma or Chika and he only scored a single point so far. He probably gonna use that extra week to train some more to get more points next match. B1-captain! Hey, isn't that the guy in the flashback of Osamu when it came to Chika's missing brother?

Preparing for the upcoming Rank Wars.
Short recap & analysis of others moves. Skipping after the OP is a good idea. Hyuse sure is arrogant.. The HQ guys are all about results & getting information. Sometimes they way of doing thing is not the smartest..

When will Osumu learn he doesn't have to be a OP badass like Jin, he need believe in himself and his cunning mind instead listening to ear senpar and naysayers about how useless he is compared to his team.

Ah, a prime suspect of this arc:
Info dump aside, I feel like the episode had a slow pacing. Whatever the case, Osamu and his team needs to be promoted in the Rank Wars to get some important info by the looks of it.

The info-dump was great. I think the story and tension are awesome as canon has continued. It definitely brings back the passion to want to see the next episode instead of wondering when an arc will finally end.

One great episode this week! I dropped the anime when they switched to the filler arc but I picked it again now that we are back to the real business . I also caught up with the manga (well not really, I only read up to the latest volume) and this week was completely filler-less which was noticeable enough since it was a really interesting episode from start to finish. The art was as Toericfic as usual though :')
I wonder what they want to do with this anime? Since the filler arc was so small and they only have 1 volume (2 counting the one coming next month) of manga + the most recent chapters to adapt left. Will they end the anime at fall? it doesn't feel like enough content to cover 2.5 cours but they could add filler scenes and ridiculously long summaries like what we got in the invasion arc and make it a thing though D: |

It doesn't sound like an smart thing to do considering they just had one, and if they are going to use all of the few source material available already it will take a lot of time to stock enough material to go back to the original story once again if they do another anime original arc.
But honestly I'm surprised this show got over the original 4 cours planned to being with. Can someone more informed tell me is how successful the show actually turned up to be? Is it merchandising/manga sales/ratings that prolonged the anime lifespan? or something else? |

The anime seems to be popular in Japan.
The manga sales increased about 100,000-150,000 to around 300,000 IIRC, pretty good, but could have been better if only the anime was handled better. I remember someone (the editor?) saying that WT manga sales pattern indicates very dedicated fanbase but not much sales outside that group. Anyway, the sales is good enough for Jump to allow the author to take a lot of breaks and make 300+ pages databook. Not sure about merchandising. Last edited by p-kun; 2016-02-07 at 22:02. |

it is sad that the story gets resolved so fast, the pacing of WT is to fast and the anime is suffering because of that,
i would say the best way to solve this is a break, let this arc be the last one for a year or longer than they could adopt it with a moderate pacing :/ but the current episode had ONE thing i really liked: did anyone see the short piture of the neighbor world? i always wanted at least one scene from the neighbor worlds |

So Hatohara was the Border traitor back then. Must suck to know you got demoted from high-ranked A to some B rank just cause one of your teamamtes thought she wanted to make vacations on the other side. xD
Wonder what hatohara's reasons were to betray Border, her own team, teacher, etc and going with 3 civilians to the neighborhood. Hah, Osamu is so eager to become a real fighter like Yuuma that he overlooks the fact that Yuuma had several years of training and actual war experiences to become so good. There is no way Osamu with his less than average trion and body abilities can become a great or even just a good shooter within a weeks training. He will probably fail spectaculary in his next match against B-1 Ninomiya squad to underline Ninomiya's remark about sending Yuuma away as most viable option. And seeing only Yuuma leave while Chika and Osamu stay behind is pretty sad. :/

I really doubt that our main trio will lose any matches. If they lose, then they won't be promoted to A rank. If that happens, well, the story will drag on longer than it should. I'm sure Osamu and the gang will find a way through it all.

That's why I said Osamu will fail and not his team. If he and Chika gets killed while Yuuma earns points all by himself it just shows that Ninomiya was right to say that they, as a team, aren't on the A rank level yet. And even there is made a selection between the 30 agents about who of them goes on the expedition mission(s).

Not bad for this week's episode in terms of story building an analysis. I hope when the actual competition begins, they adapt this properly as some of the more prominent players have been mentioned from various teams. Going to keep my hopes up. Yuuma should also be someone the others need to watch out. Same with that scary mind reader...
Lol, the cat. It's like staring at your soul.

Kage got such an awesome voice! I love it! <3 <3 <3
And Chika got a husbando. Bet Osamu's mom had her shipping sense going off as if her favorite sonxchika ship is taking in more and more water as the new SS ChikaxEma leaves port. XD That cat is creepy though. Like it is a trion undercover agent infiltrating Border and sitting on people's head to shed its mind controlling cat hair on them. xD The explanation why gunners and shooters don't make good point-getters was pretty nice. But the lowside of damage gets outweighed by the amount of length and control they got with the gun triggers. Although as seen by Kage's scorpion the attackers have ways to attack over long distances as well. I wonder how the heck Toei wants this season to be another 48-50 episodes long. At this rate they will breeze through the rest of the manga chapters in no time.
