Program? there isn't really just one program that does everything...
Here is a list of programs involved: 1. SSA (The old one) I use that to time the script 2. Custom karaoke program -- This is used to convert my centi-second timings (\K,\k,) into mili-second timings (\T). Along the way I specify what sfx I want to use. Crumja released his calculator program awhile ago that does this. 3. VirtualDub + Textsub plugin -- To preview the karaoke against the episode. Textsub is included with the VobSub package. Some guides were posted earlier on how to become acustomed to the syntax that SSA/ASS uses. If it isn't in this thread, do a search... this question has been asked countless times. |

If you want a taste of the custom karaoke program that CSR mentioned, here is a set of it that crumja has released to the public. You will need pretty good understanding of how to convert {\k} tags to {\t} before you can exploit the power of these tools. |

I've heard of subtitle workshop but I know of no TSers that use it. Personally I would just stick with what is standard. SSA/ASS scripting is standard for a reason, that is simply cause it works and it has versatility. If you want to get into TSing a few tools you should have are
Color grabber - for hex color grabbiong and convertion X-Fonter - for font search off of installed font folder Font Glancer - same thing as x-fonter but only does installed folder yet it has a much nicer preview VDUBMod - so you can check your FX over the avi using the textsub filter Now one of the most important and over looked parts of typesetting is the over all styling it's self. Tons of FX are interesting and all but poor styling makes everything look like shit. So get your styles down before you start coding your FX. On another note learn to use layers for your FX. All of the top typesetters use layering FX when working in SSA/ASS for Kara's. Also READ THE ASS-REF!!!! I can't stress that enough. thats about all I have to say ATM, otherwise good luck and if you wish to findout more come ask any of the ppl in the channel #typesetters on irc.rizon.net just don't come there trying to recruite ppl or you will get a swift K/B. peace getfresh |

very true indeed. I like showing ppl code so they can just play with it and see what is done rather then teaching them step by step these days. And saddly these days I can't even open most Kara in ssa or medusa cause of no unicode support so I don't even really use em at all anymore. I just have my preformatted scripts that I use for everything. |

I don't know if this is the way those are done, but I would handle those like...
Code:
{\pos(320,450)\1a&Hdd&\bord4}text {\pos(320,450)\1a&Hdd&\bord3}text {\pos(320,450)\1a&Hdd&\bord2}text {\pos(320,450)\1a&Hdd&\bord1}text With \pos, you don't have to worry about the overlapped sub being placed on top of each other on the screen. If you use ASS layer field effectively, then you can eliminate \pos from the code too. |

More karaoke goodness. I want to try and create a karaoke that when the sound hits, it would stretch, both upwards and downwards, fading away slowly.
I know it has something to do with \fscy, but to keep it centered, should I use \an5 or \org. Im also guessing that there would be two layers. ________ Honda Z50R specifications Last edited by Itachikun; 2011-02-15 at 07:26. |

I had made those interesting karaoke for Angelic-anime for Happy 7, they dropped the show before releasing any episode so here it is for whoever could use it.
