I read the spoilers about the protagonist and I'm a little confused. He an enchanter, which has few attack skills and specializes on buffing others, but isn't he supposed to be a loner? His class completely contradicts his personality. How the hell did he get to level 90 like that anyway?
I must confess that I had little interest in this series, but not because I wrote it off as a cheap SAO counterfeit. It kinda reminded me of Senyuu and Xion Saga. After listening to the op a couple a dozen times and scrutinizing the characters, I must bow to its potential. |

Ixion Saga DT is one of the best comedy in recent years with it's several jabs at the gaming culture, while under the disguise of a fantasy story.
If this turns out anywhere close to it I would be extremely pleased

Problem is that, as others have said, this probably got greenlit because TPTB wanted to ride on the success of SAO. Yes, the premise is different, but the connection is there. Had that show not been made there would've been nothing else to relate Log Horizon to, except maybe .hack.

You're right NHK's probably not overly concerned about BD and merchandise sales, with this anime being on the educational channel, no less. Viewership ratings on the other hand... yep. |

Personally I think it's better to let folks see what's it's like for themselves. If they change their mind and the experience rewards them, then cheers to them! If they still think otherwise... *shrugs*

I'm gonna go more with promoting the original material since the likes of Bakuman and Phi Brain never really got good ratings......wait phi Brain doesn't have original material,I still can't figure out why it's getting a 3rd season, not that I mind since I enjoy the show.

the only issue when comes to SAO "Linear Storytelling" makes it popular but this one most likely this one a hybrid due it telling concept how being alive on that world/interactions/character's personality/system of the game

A bit of a weak opening in the first few minutes for me personally. I was expecting something like SAO, where they explained how people get into the game, some short but nice time dedicated to the outside world before they all get trapped inside the game. With this, it starts with them already trapped in the game so it was a little overwhelming at first since a lot was being thrown our way.
I like the characters, they're all very likable, especially the small but cute Akatsuki I'm liking the idea that guilds are building up their forces, as if to say that in the future there's going to be a war over control of the territory in games rather than everyone working together to survive.

If you did that on a 1/1/1, you deserve a statue. Not that I'd be proud of you for that feat
It's awesome. Whenever I try to act in character in a game all I get are odd looks.. Wasn't a bad episode, but if Shiroe adjusts his goddamn glasses one more time I'm going to take them and snap them in half. (And really, they were taking damage from lv.28 creatures at lv.90?) |

Watched this, and I liked how there's a certain awareness of the mechanisms of an MMORPG, as well as the inconveniences that would come with being transported into it. I loved the details of them not being able to adapt to the different body height, or the food being tasteless.
I see that this could be a relatively quiet, but fun, show. I like the idea. I'm just a bit worried by two things: the fact that the author is the same guy from MMY (but then again, I despised SAO yet I enjoyed Accel World, so I don't think that's necessarily a problem), and the fact that I detected a potential harem set up. Akatsuki's been a bit too blushy around the MC, and unreasonably pissed when that other woman jumped at him. Also, too high hot chick/males ratio not to worry a bit. MMY had a very lame harem element too after all, with Hero having both Maou and Knight running after him - and the whole thing was rather ridiculous. But if the harem element does not outgrow its welcome, or if it's just Akatsuki having a crush on the MC, maybe I can manage. On another note, Akatsuki reminds me a bit of Morgiana from Magi.
