I just got to chapter 208 or so. I think that's not the correct reading:
From the goddess's explanation:
今後、貴方は現在の装備者が死亡するまで、それ以外の人間に装備されることが出来なくなったわ 。

From the reading (plus MTL assist), I think that roughly translates to:
From now on, until your current equipper dies, no one else can equip you.

(in the sense of equipment registration required to share skills and so on. The word sobi-sa indicates that she's referring to the special equip status, not just picking him up)

She then goes on to say:
もし、無理やり装備しようとする者が居れば、その者には罰が下るでしょう

Which I think roughly translates to:
If anyone else tries to equip you by force, that person will suffer punishment.

Two lines later, she explains that the punishments for trying to do so varies with intention. People who didn't know better and just randomly tried him on will get a small shock (mentioned as weak lightning attack?), people who tried to deliberately steal him could be killed.

Teacher then commented that since he didn't intend to let other people equip him, then this actually functions like security. Now he can't be stolen from Fran.



I think here, this allows that Teacher can be inherited by Fran's children or other people. Only this has to happen after Fran dies. Since this was done because Teacher absorbed the beastman evolution skill, the goal was to prevent him from being passed around to achieve evolution easily.

Presumably this means the goddess is also watching for foul play, so murdering Fran to get the awakening skill from the sword is probably going to attract divine wrath.

She then becomes ridiculously OP and utterly destroys her opponent in 203.

At that point we're going wtf since there's no indication that she has evolved before that. So 204-208 is about Fran unlocking evolution in secret before the fight.

It simply isn't mentioned anywhere that she is an evolved Black Cat until she uses it in the middle of the fight and wtfpwns her opponent.

Then the next few chapters are spent explaining how she suddenly can evolve.

The manga art is pretty detailed, I always love it like that. Also; the manga artist obssession with hair sort of changed Fran's haircut from semi long straight to somehow sexy curly (well, it's a much more reasonable change, not like shounen to trap like in Manuke).

It looks like the novel is going to polish stuff (like shishou acquiring less skills and solving stuff through actions rather than plot hax, in chap 1 he had to destroy Fran's contract with what he had there rather than conveniently getting a skill that nullifies it)

Additionally, volume 2 is on the horizon

I think her design in the manga is almost the same as in the LN - the main difference is that the LN pics show her after she'd had a chance to clean up. In the LN pics, you can see that her hair is mostly short except at the front, but only when seeing Fran from the side.

Adding a bit of supplementary info and confirmation since I just got to this point in this WN myself.

As jseah said, Fran is locked as his user as long as she's alive. Once she does die, he'll be able to get a new user. And to be extra safe, the goddess also took the awakening skill away from Shishou and prevented him from learning the skill again (but gave him a skill to hide that Fran is evolved in and also took away 5 skill points in exchange), so the loophole they used isn't usable anymore even if he gets stolen/gets a new user.

Marathoned to the newest chapter of raw WN since the manga caught my interest. I feel like the author made a mistake in 349 where Fran told Shishou to unequip a skill that he'd acquired with Skill Taker, since if I understood correctly, those can't be set and unset. Unless Fran was just supposed to be so stressed that she forgot that matter too.

Yep, the manga is nice. Fran's subdued but various reactions are quite cute... while she can also be seriously badass at times too. Shisho jumping in to act as a privacy guard during the clothes shopping was quite funny too. And then Fran takes Shisho to the bath making it all pointless.

I've not read much of the WN (apart from what's been translated). Maybe if I had more time. I'd be curious what direction the story is going in as the chapters pile up...
