Which is kinda odd considering Daiwon isn't exactly new to the manga/light-novel scene. Here's a photo of a paperstand given as an apology with L*S volume 2: It does look tempting, but no. I like my Miyuki with her keigo.

The overall opinion is that the translation is a lot better, much fewer mistakes*, better print quality (no more white-outs!) but Miyuki's keigo is still gone. * Apparently the translator doesn't know otaku culture that much. カャルゲ(Kyaruke, dating-sim character. Not sure how it is in Japanese) was transliterated as "갸루계(note: punk girl(?))." In other words, the translator had no idea what カャルゲ was and tried her best, and failed. Poor Kanata, she was demoted from dating-sim character to punk girl!

I wonder if theres any raws of the manga running around... I have vol 1-3 in Chinese but I don't feel like taking them to my scanner to scan them in fear of damaging the book by applying too much pressure to the centre... There are so many nice pictures of the gang... ooooo.

No idea what the pattern for translated releases are... but I can't imagine it lagging more than a few months (unlike we poor bastards in the US where english readers are still waiting for *someone* to license it).

(radio broadcast to all post/deliverymen - cute gaijin located at ******. Use statistical values for determining "mostly likely to be about to shower" time) Dozens of copies.... argh. Well, that does up the odds that Kinokuniya might have it.

Dunno if anyone's pointed this out yet, but apparently a spinoff manga of Lucky Star is in the works, based on Lucky Channel.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2007-10-29/manga-to-launch-for-lucky-star-spinoff-la'cryma-game It seems legit enough, since I've seen this on a few other websites. Last edited by The Timotei Teller; 2007-11-23 at 23:01. |

Happened to be showing a friend around Uwajimaya/Kinokuniya yesterday and snapped a copy of Lucky*Star manga volume 5. (obligatory "getto!")
Looks like a fair amount of Misao goodness but that's was just a random flip check.

If you mean scanlations.... I've not seen any that are more than a chapter or two into the volumes.
I'm collecting the series (5 volumes so far) but other than my paper'n'pencil henscratches to work out some of the text - that's the extent of what I've done with it. Never tried to do a scanlation before because I hate damaging the books. There's actually a thread about the manga in the Lucky Star subforum so your thread might end up merged with that one - just so you know
