Is a remake really necessary, though? I honestly think they should just continue where they left off with the OVA. I couldn't look beyond the art in the Hunter x Hunter manga, so I was never able to follow the story after finishing the OVA.

I'm still on the fence about this reboot but it looks like the new voice cast has at least provided me a good reason to really look forward to it now.

Not sure about the rest either. I've only heard female roles from Mariya Ise and Miyuki Sawashiro, so I've no idea if they'll be able to pull off Killua and Kurapika convincingly. I'll see I guess. Keiji Fujiwara as Leorio should definitely work though. |

Hunter X Hunter:Brotherhood.
Somehow I got excited. They're retelling the story, there 25+ volumes, its somehow I watched when I was a kid. . . GAH! Anyway I don't remember the plot at all and this will definitely be a winner series for me. AND MADHOUSE. . . KYAAAAAAAA! Squealing like a fanboy. Now its ensured of good animation. I was worrying someone like Pierrot or Toei would do this. Its becoming more and more like Brotherhood.

How big is the story atm? Think this will be a long running (i.e. 100+) series? Or something that can be wrapped up in 52 episodes, TBC whenever the manga finishes. Although Madhouse has in the past faithfully adapted another series and went with an original ending at the very end (Claymore anyone?), so that's a bit worrisome.
Also, from my understanding the manga is far from over and will likely take a long time. (Right?) So what's the point of this reboot now? If the manga doesn't finish for several years are we gonna look at another Natruto or Bleach (200+ episodes adding filler while waiting on the manga) or we looking at ANOTHER remake in 5 years from now? |

A REBOOT?
Mixed feelings here. I'm vey atatched to the old anime, nice animation, beautiful music and awesome VAs. It was pretty faithful to the manga (with only like what, 1 or 2 filler episodes?) Perhaps it'll be a "short" reboot, just to refresh our memories. And then follow the manga which might end soon. Or they make it like Naruto/Bleach/One piece and the manga which might carry on and on and on...
