Well, well ... that was pretty good. Didn't know what to expect, but this one looks kinda interesting. Huzzah!
Adding this one to the ongoing list. 7/10 vote from me on this one. I have a feeling it is gonna get better too.

Love the show so far, especially Mutta's character, but I have to say -- the cars he designed are fugly!
A full year is going to be awesome. This is how it used to done and one of the things I miss the most about old school anime: plenty of time to develop and flesh the story/characters out. |

Excellent piece of work and this just the first episode. Strongly reminiscent of Space Cowboys, but with 30somethings (like me) and discussing some current-day issues such as unemployment. Expecting lots of space technobabble but I'm sure it's going to explore the relationship between the brothers, as well as trying to make a childhood dream come true.
Although with the disclaimer that they're not endorsing the show, just let the producers use the emblem throughout, NASA should be promoting it instead to keep the awareness about space exploration alive, despite that they've been set back several times by those budget cuts as well as the retirement of the entire shuttle fleet. Favorited. This is going to be a genuinely entertaining show.

So rumours that this show was running for a year may have been exaggerated...
EDIT! Or then again not. Turned out the original story I linked to was a bit of a misunderstanding and it was just a campaign ending on June 27th not the actual series. That's good to hear! Last edited by Dop; 2012-04-03 at 03:55. |

I'm wondering if ANN is properly understanding this. The way I read it on the official website, it was talking about merchandise, in particular a deal about collecting points on some Uchuu Kyoudai card, saying "it'll end at this point in the broadcast", not necessarily "the broadcast is ending at this point". But I'm not necessarily properly reading this either, just pointing out that the wording is not crystal clear.
With that said, NTV/YTV seem to be very cautious when it comes to showing anime during the day. Remember how they cancelled Kekkaishi during the production and had its fourth cour air during a late-night timeslot - maybe they're doing something similar here and having the possibility of moving Uchuu Kyoudai after the first cour if it doesn't work out. Quarkboy on ANN did say that it'd be clarified soon anyway, so I expect there's a little more to it than "the previous info was wrong, this is 1-cour after all".

The company I work for now, A-dec, is the company handling the webpage and data broadcast, and I confirmed with the tantou about what it was supposed to mean and notified ANN about it.
Apologies to everyone who got confused but this was more a matter of someone misreading the Japanese than anything else. Uchuu Kyoudai is officially ??? number of episodes .
