But seriously, I found this enjoyable nonetheless. The GBF franchise in general has always been a really fun and easy watch and this OVA reminded me of how much I miss looking forward to another episode every week. I hope a 3rd season is made. |

Long story short, a bunch of people started spewing needless hate for Try in general after I expressed the opinion that Try is overall a better show than than the original Gundam Build Fighters. After some extremely one-sided debate, eventually Flower stepped in to deal with the shitslinging and banned at least one of the trolls.

In case you couldn't tell, that wasn't a serious statement--Just like my previous comment you quoted. (hence why I began the following sentence by stating "But seriously," as to insinuate a segueway from a non-serious sentiment to a serious one). I love Domon, but I'm not actually stupid enough to have expected him to show up or to feel let down by his absence as a cameo in this OVA. lol |

He got sick and was hospitalized for it, but I don't think it was life-threatening--just enough to make sure he definitely couldn't go to work for a while. At least, that's what I remember. I think we would've heard something if his health took a turn for the worse.

Ha, Sekai is as dense as a black hole.
Honestly, I feel like this would be more suited for a movie given its length if they decided to extend it to an hour+. However, I thought the soundtrack was pretty good especially during the last 20 minutes. Also, Aila's daughter? I knew that mysterious girl had some resemblance to her. Shame we didn't get to see Reiji. Hoping for a third season in the future.

hey at least they remembered AGE, its sort of funny seeing the Diva back in its animated glory & used as a final boss fight weapon alongside the Celestial Being & the Colony Laser.
also was Shia always the cat girl type before? |

the Gyancelot's lance weapon has got to be the most patriotic-looking Zeon weapon ever, hell i feel i can hear Sieg Zeon!!! chanting the moment Gyanko activates it, its like the opposite of Captain America's shield Frisbee.

its sort of a miracle that no one in lab is either crushed or outright impaled by the crystal formation as what Nils said nobody is injured,
also i wish Nils somehow manages to join the fight by pulling whatever gunpla he had in his pocket, some improved Sengoku Astray or Musha Gundam or something, instead he got stuck in the crystals. |

Sorry about my lack of knowledge on this subject (I never saw a Gundam Build Fighters series), but these Gunplas are remote controlled drones, right? And they can harm people (the scientists at the beginning of the special seemed quite afraid)? And anyone can have one of them (they let children play with these things)..?

Spoiler:
So... out of curiosity, why did you watch Island Wars if you've never seen either GBF series before? They both explain what's going on in the very first episode: People build miniature plastic models, which are then placed onto a special platform and then animated using a special magical particle which effectively simulates VR tech, and the models are then controlled within that simulated environment only. Except in special situations like the system going out of control like it did in Island Wars, the models are instantly rendered inert the moment they leave the platform's boundaries, and as you saw with Sekai, they're still incredibly fragile despite being animated.
