When i heard of the Earthquake in Tokyo, japan.
My first horrifying mental image was the scenes in the Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 anime!!! D: Freaky prediction! Hopefully we won't see the same devastating scenarios that we saw in this series! My heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims! ;_;

Nothing like what you saw in the anime. The epicenter was 200Km away from Tokyo in the coast of Miyagi prefecture.
The large gas depot on the outskirt of Tokyo bay is burning like mad though.It was reported that another gas depot in Miyagi was completely washed away by a tsunami. |

Well...
Waves to hit Philippines shores by 7pm. Communities on the eastern and western shores of the Philippines have been evacuated since 5pm but a lot of people still refuse to leave. Currently there hasn't been any news of how the waves have struck us.

I'm watching ANC and the caster is talking to philipino ambassador in tokyo in English/Tagalog switch off while ambasador responds only in English.
It's my first time hearing Tagalog, sorry for saying anything stupid. Worry about 225,000 Philpinos in Japan, most in Tokyo area though. |

I wouldn't worry too much right now unless Hawaii gets totally wrecked.
I read there are estimates of 1 meter waves on the west coast only... Right now we should just focus on Japan and some of the island nations like the Phillipines and see what is happening there.

But crap... that's a huge earthquake. If my math is correct, that'd be 100x stronger than the biggest one I've ever experienced in (Loma Preita), and that did servere damage already. Considering where I live, severe seismic activity is always a reality... it can get you when you're not expecting it. But what happened was just on another scale. It took me a while to just realize the implications. Well, here's to hoping everyone involved pulls through.
