So instead of one party ruled by amoral psychos you'd rather have two parties ruled by amoral psychos? Not seeing the appeal here to be honest.
In other news only five Republicans voted in support of the Impeachment trial in the latest effort to kill it. Those heads are still pretty firmly rooted in the sand. Unless someone has a last minute change of heart it looks like this is all just a huge waste of time as hands are slapped over their ears and they're shouting, "La la la! I'm can't hear you, I'm not listening!"

I suppose the idea is that while the democrats alone are merely considering such ideas as universal healthcare, free college, and other such ideas... in other countries (again, probably the European ones... my guess is the Scandinavian countires) these are already in place and have been for a while. hence why the Democratic Party in the US is seen as conservative elsewhere.

For all that’s it worth, from a perspective of my German friends, the Democratic Party is center right and the GOP is far right.
On another note, It seems qanon is not going away. It’s fusing with Sovereign citizen, white accelerationism and rapture ready evangelicals. This is the new GOP voting bloc. And I don’t thin a return pre Trump status quo will be enough to quell the brewing violence

In case of Canada, universal healthcare has been a reality for generations and if post-highschool schooling isn't free, compared to what it cost in the US one could almost say than it is.

I find pieces like this particularly entertaining given Biden's campaign launched while repeating the 'fine people' hoax. |

Probably. But that's one of the obstacles to moving forwards. I don't know how many people that "We" is, but its not small. Its also not the entire 74 or so million that voted for Trump.

There's already problem with the first sentence, a truckload of thoses ''we'' can't really say then they tolerated Obama. The last 12 years coule be argued to had been not much more than toxic partisanerie on both side. Crying a river over the others issues while not even at their own problem isn't likely to make ting work.

The non stop fact checking is more on Trump than the media. I don’t think that man has ever said a truthful thing in his life.
I seriously doubt that they would call the impeachment’s fake if it was Biden or Obama who did the things that Trump has. Heck they would be calling for blood. Quote:

But you forgot the glue! 1984 is a novel that talks about a totalitarian government that uses technology to spy on citizens. The article you link (thanks for the link, btw) talks about the effort from private citizens to uphold democracy. So Trump was so toxic (before the election, before the failed insurrection) that not only even corporate america decided to stop supporting the child emperor, I swear all this schadenfreude is going to make me shine like a light bulb So, it is like crying "wolf, wolf!" when it is clear for everyone it is a fish, as in, wtf!? |

If it doesn't feel Orwellian to you: Just imagine a world where Trump had won, and this article was penned about the "heroic Trump supporters that conspired behind the scenes to make sure no funny business went on". It's about the framing. One man's fascist dictator is another's savior. My freedom fighters, your terrorists. My education, your indoctrination. My defenders of democracy, your billionaire corporate swamp creatures...and so on.
