I don't really get this one. "Tori" I would think would make her a bird, and we did get birdlike imagery in one of the eyecatches, but all the jokes involve her being like a ghost instead. I can't find any connection between that and her name.

Isn't it the Torii for the gate to the shinto shrines or some japanese buddhism entrances.
So it represents passing and death as well. And I think birds also has some death symbolism in japan as well. "To this day it is still unclear whether torii are a uniquely Japanese cultural concept or a foreign import. What is clear however, is their function of separating the profane and the mundane from the sacred. As for the word torii itself there have been several etymological explanations: either tōri-iru (通り入る) which means "to pass through and enter" or - as mentioned above - tori 鳥 (bird) and iru 居 (to be [somewhere] or to sit), bird perch. There has been an age-old connection between birds and death in Japan, as both the Kojiki as well as the Nihon shoki mention how Prince Yamato Takeru had turned into a white bird after his death, choosing his burial ground in that shape. Consequently, his burial mound had been called shiratori misasagi (白鳥陵, white bird grave). Other classicial Japanese texts too support the close connection between the souls of the dead and white birds." http://www.jref.com/japan/culture/religion/torii.shtml

Interesting. I knew about the term for shrine gates, but since everyone else was an animal I didn't think it was being used in that fashion. I wasn't aware of a connection between birds and death. Thanks for the information.

Lovers quarrels can be very frightening things, apparently, to be started over something as trivial as a hairstyle.
I was hoping that Inugami would just pull Nekoyama in the water. Too bad she wasn't that bold. I did like how Neko eventually felt like she was missing out on something when they were done.

Animals attending the festival. Cow gets flirty with Dog, Cat wants to eat the goldfish, Aki wears a China dress, and Bird is home sick (as usual).
I... guess the series is over? Kind of a short cute yuri thing that didn't really accomplish much on account of only being three minutes long.
