They exist to prevent people from being spoiled by anime content they haven't viewed yet. If you want to discuss manga content, there's a thread for it.

As far as questions people have about the title if they haven't read any of the Negima series, I can answer that. I haven't read or watched anything from Negima, but that hasn't diminished my joy of reading UQ Holder. References to the past are explained as the story goes along, so you never feel like the characters are more clued in than you. It's standard shounen plot stuff, so you should never feel like you're in over your head.

To add, it seems that not even watching Negima (both shows) will help in UQH anyway.

Other threads. Spoiler tag has never been a catch-all for anything you want to post under it. Unless the thread is discussing the original property, there are always limits to what can be posted even under spoiler tags. Generally, posting anything about future events from the original property in an adaptation thread are disallowed, even under spoiler tags, until those events (or equivalent) occur in the adaptation. Since nothing has occurred in this adaptation yet, discussion is limited to basic information about the property (relation to Negima, cast, expectations, etc.).

The movie...meh.

If SHAFT gets UQ Holder, I'm going to expect average at best. If ufotable were to somehow get this, well...

Well, I doubt that would happen. And Ufotable isn't exactly spotless outside of its Nasuverse adaptations (*cough*GodEater*cough*). Agreed on the rest, though, except that the two TV series were utter crap, not just regular crap. The voice acting was good, but Ken has always led a charmed life when it comes to his adaptations' voice talent. Love Hina was the seiyuu equivalent of the '61 Yankees.

My dream would be for Bones to get it, then decide that it did so well that they'd ask Ken to adapt the entirety of Negima. Correctly, this time. If anyone needs to be reminded how perfectly Bones can adapt a completed manga, look no further than FMA: Brotherhood.

UQ Holder is good, much better than it gets credit for, but it's kind of ironic to see it getting an anime when Negima hasn't even had a proper adaptation yet.

Well i hope this goes to a studio that doesnt care about the source but still makes it fun. Thats my dream

The ironic thing is (to me at least) Shaft came closer to faithfully adapting Negima in their OVAs than anyone else. That was a different time and a different Shaft, of course.

I'd actually like to see J.C. Staff work on this. I think their style would accent the parts of UQ that work and downplay the ones that don't.

J.C. Staff means, at the very best, spell CGI design at the level of Shakugan no Shana and Index/Railgun.
Now, the main issue is how the story is framed for the anime.

You're not. Even I, who haven't drawn anything in over a decade, could draw the hammer (?) Karin is holding with a smiliar level of quality.

Not related to the low quality, but I always pictured Kirie as a redhead, probably because she reminds me of Chisame, so this image is a bit of a shock to me.

SHAFT was supposed to have adapted the worse adaptation of Negima based on previous recommendations I received long ago.

As for the character designs, they are not key visual-tier. They seem more like official art that was requested on a whim, because seeing from footage of Shokugeki no Souma, that's definitely not at par with a J.C. Staff production that was given enough effort.
