I always thought Chouji's battle felt lame, as he didn't even win with his own strength, but used some pills instead. Besides, there is this ultra-lame "I'm ten times stronger than before!" "But I am hundred times stronger than before!" The Lameness is killing me.
I was thinking of that too before, But it's kind of the same way no matter how you look at it because those pills give him such a pain that he dies...
So there lies his strength...to be able to bare the pain of those pills

anyways...
I almost freakin' cryed when I read the manga so I guess this will be a kind of sad episode with music and all

Ah, it what sense? How does a Curse Seal operate differently from the pills? Both forcibly draw out chakra for you to use.
Both can kill you if overused. The only difference is that the CS makes you Oro's slave but I fail to see how that affected the people with CS anyway.
So: Same advantages and nearly the same disadvantages.

If you want to call one thing cheap, you'll have to do it with the other.

This episode was awsome. Choji looked freaking very cool after he ate the last pill. Then he opened a can of woop ass

Just one question though, is choji really dead?

Opening gates is not cheap. I bet it takes some extreme training to even open one.

But all the others I agree with, they're cheap and kinda cheating.

I don't have much experience with encoding so this might be off but why don't you check the video and audio bitrate of the avi with GSpot and write them down, then customize your encoding software according to your needs.

I just don't see any sense in encoding a fansub that originally has only 1000KBit/s with 4000KBit/s or am I missing something?

EDIT: Can you tell I posted this in the wrong thread?
I won't edit it though so that you can ridicule me to your hearts content. I deserve it

WOW! Simply wow. The last three minutes of this episode was: WOW! I didn't get the correlation between Chouji's trying to rescue a butterfly in the flashback and why Chouji had Chakra-wing; or why there were so many butterflies all around him as he ate the last pill, but it was simply beautiful and touching. The selection of music and the lack of it in certain parts helped getting accross the desired emotional response. Overall the animators did a good job with the visualization, especially for the last three minutes of this episode, although the animation for the action-scene was their (animators) average work.

The episode has also explained why the folks of Akimichi (?) clan likes to stay... uhm.. big boned. As ShrinTuar said, if it was anyone else in the group other than Chouji taking the pill, the result probably would have been exposing one's endo-skeleton to get Jiroubou's compliment such as, "My word champ! Don't you look skinny." The pill simply helped Chouji's body to eat itself very quickly to exert energy till his heart gave out. Kishimoto is brutal. Atleast, as Socom mentioned, Chouji went out with a bang.

May I suggest you ask yourself the questions, "what makes you cry?" and "why?"

Yes, Chouji means butterfly.
Ah! This explains a lot. Thanks Sin.

No, I was randomly quoting someone and this time it was your turn.

Seriously, though: I understood the part like that:

- CS is cheap
- Pills are cheap but even cheaper (or "worse" as you said)

I didn't agree with because the level of cheapness is same for both in my humble opinion.

Dont you see him stuffing his face all the time?
Thats part of his training. He's not just some dumb fatass, but instead
someone whos purposefully training his body just so that he can employ those
power boosting pills, which he does quite well.

Its pretty obvious noone else that weve seen so far can do it but his itizoku.

I would say that its much less of a deus ex machina than kyuubi or even the curse seals.

You gotta stop looking at things all cock-eyed.

Yeah you understood that right.
All these boosts of power no jutsu are kinda cheap but not at the same degree in my mind.
The power given by the Gates is cheap but at least you need training and each Gates seem to have a purpose so it's more or less okey.
The Kyubi is like the cheapiest thing in the whole manga, tremendous boost for basically almost no side effect, not even the usual damage on the body.
At least Naruto had to train (and still has) to be able to use it normally.
The CS kills 9 times out of 10 to begin with, Sasuke couldn't control it at all before Kakashi sealed it, it increases the evil part of his personality and it's supposed to make its user Oro's slave.
Actually the Cs is the boost no jutsu which cost the most but still it's cheap.
Now Choji's pills give you power (100 times as powerful like Choji would say -_-) in exchange of... weights.
That's it, you give these pills to any obese kid and he become 100x times stronger than before.
How cheap is that?

Factually speaking the Kyubi is cheapier but at least there is a big demon behind this fact and some training to use it correctly.

Choji eating? Never saw that which probably should be why I said that the pills were only about eating I guess.
And if I didn't say that he's dumb he's however a fatass eating all the time because he likes that, don't make it sounds as if Choji forces himself to eat.

Which he does quite well? Yeah eating a pills was incredibly difficult but I think that Choji is trained enough in the art of eating not to let drop a pill on the ground when he tries to swallow it.
