I do wonder: why didnt Rin tell Shirou of this method of mana replenishing in the first place? She explicitly said that Saber either has to attack humans to replenish her mana, or disappear due to the lack of mana (and apparently those 2 were the only options at that time).
Any special reason why this method of mana-replenishing was only revealed now? |

JAM IT IN!
I concur with everyone else... the entire mana regen sequence was just impossible to take seriously. It was poorly executed no matter how I look at it and kills F/SN's generally serious atmosphere. And the dragon was terrible. But I won't harp on it, since enough's been said about in this thread so far. But there was a lot of good in the second half. The fight scene was one of the best in the series, IMO. I have no problems with Ilya giving away all of Berserker's secrets... personally I think that's totally in character for her. She's been given what appears to be the strongest servent by a long way, and because of it she's overcomplacent and thinks she can't lose, no matter what she says. Inevitably, this will be her downfall (I predict). Spoiler for speculation for next episode:
Didn't like the new OP song. Maybe it'll grow on me in time (they usually do), but disillusion is just so quintessentially Fate/Stay Night that I know I'm going to miss it. Interesting that there was an Archer v Shirou fight in the OP sequence... Not a great first half, but the episode redeemed itself a bit in the second half, so it didn't quite go so far as to turn me off this series altogether. |

Man I couldn't give this episode more than a 7 and that was being generous. What a let down. Come on if he is to transfer his magical circuit they should of shown him and her having clothes removed they didn't actually have to have sex. Especially after they had Rin say it herself they needed as much skin contact as possible than they didn't have NO skin contact! Even in Mai-Otome they showed enough to indicate that when Antsy as he liked to call her was wet and cold he had to warm her up and that required removal of the clothes. So if they can do that in a non-h anime and not show anything what the HELL is wrong with the creator of this anime? Total morons for the way they pulled this off And the scene with a dragon was just so cheesy it was like watching a b-movie effect in the anime.

I dunno, I thought this episode was really corny. I mean, I enjoyed the fanservice and such, but after last week's ep this seems like a horrible travesty. A complete 180, which I don't like very much. Even the new OP seems incredibly tacky and disjointed. Why fix something if it's not broken? I loved Disillusion. This new song lacks the smoothness and quality, and the frames don't match the beat very well.
Was the studio on acid when they made this episode? CG dragons, horrible OP, a lot of awkwardness, etc. btw, at least it ended with a hell of a cliff hanger, which is a plus. Last edited by Prodigious; 2006-04-15 at 23:27. |

The way they avoided the sex scenes are pretty lame. They could've done what countless ecchi anime did, just cut off the scen when the get into bed and/or have some sheets pulled over them. As it is right now, the digital dragon/bird is really lame. Other than that, I love this ep. Looks like Shirou is going to create a Excalibur replica, next ep should be good.

Wtf?!? A few episodes back Saber had no problem standing naked infront of Shirou and now she blushes just cause he´s holding her arm...
But other than that I enjoyed the episode. And I liked the animation for the dragon. I think it was a good choice.

They are being chased by a giant sized Hercules (with a psycho loli as its master no less), but here they are, still not in a "safe-zone", and having sex? Even if it does serve the purpose of mana-replenishing, it sure as hell would be better just running away. (consider this: Saber, replenished, still couldn't handle a fight against Berserker). |
