Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner
I can't believe it.. I bought a pretty bad game, which also happens to be an Atlus title made by a former partner of Kaneko Kazuma of the Shin Megami Tensei series. Aside from the pretty awful soundtrack, the fully-voiced dialogues are much worse. Supposedly, I would had picked Elycia in my team if she was voiced by Horie Yui, but whoever voiced the NA version happens to have a voice similar to screech. Instead, I picked Lynn and Bargus to join.
I didn't realized that the game actually features multiple paths and endings. After playing 4 hours and a half hours, I actually picked two wrong paths which gave me awful character encounters.. The first time I chose to check out this room instead of following Lynn and Anjh which results in hearing this horrendous voice of Elycia. The second time, instead of following Zygard, I thought I should check out the road ahead for any items to run into the Abdomination which further branches into meeting Zacht, a guy with a voice that is worse than Elycia. As for the Amalgamy Lab, there are two options. One is fusion which is actually different than Persona, instead all you get to fuse are 2 pieces of quartzs with a monster of your choice that isn't equipped. Sadly, the only skills you get are the healing ability, a barrier-type skill, and also a weak element-all skill. The gameplay is rather awful. All you do is walk around in places and hope to get the random encounters which allows you to capture monsters that have low LP (life points) using prisms of the same element. After a few hours play, the game is quite plain and boring. An awful experience!!! Last edited by Shadow Kira01; 2009-01-16 at 23:32. Reason: fixed title syntax |

Currently playing Kingdom Hearts RE: CoM for PS2.
So far, the only differences I can make out (compared to the GBA version) are the voiced cutscenes and 3D graphics. It certainly would've been nice if Squeenix added just a bit of new content, but I guess that's asking for too much. The game is still very enjoyable, though. |

Currently playing...
Ar tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica: Outside the General Store after making a cookie instead of a cake. Perhaps, it doesn't matter what choices you pick, the end result would be a failure and a cookie. I find the battles to be somewhat sluggish, especially that each turn is time-limited and the defense phrase is rather difficult. Everytime there is a battle with the IPDs, the end result will be a victory with no experience points gained, because both Croix and Coconoa are usually dead a turn before either Cloche or Luca casts her song magic attack. Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core: Starting a new game off someone else's save file. Originally, I planned to skip the game since I already saw all the cutscenes. However, all the cutscenes don't include all the newsletters and the Kunsel mails, neither does it include the side-quests. Thus, it is good to go through the game once. The graphics are top-notch!! Persona 4: On December 22 in second last dungeon (true ending), looks like I can't live until I beat the enemies. Rune Factor 2: Just started the game yesterday, played a few hours.. I find it quite difficult to stay alive with just a broadsword (4-hit combo). After just a few battles, my RP is gone and another few minutes, my health ends up as critical. Medicinal Herbs gives +20HP, while most colored grass gives +5HP. An apple or a grape gives +15HP. A bath at Julia's place replenishes ALL HP/RP but it only can be done once a day. I wonder when will Jake let me use his forging services, I need better equipment. .... Other games waiting to be played includes: Ar tonelico, Atelier Iris 3, Clock Tower 3, Dawn of Mana, Devil Summoner 3, Fatal Frame II, Grandia III, Luminous Arc, Mana Khemia, MS Saga, Radiata Stories, Rune Factory, Shadow Hearts 2, Star Ocean: First Depature, Star Ocean: Second Evolution, Suikoden IV, Summon Night: Twin Age, Valkyria Profile: Lenneth, Valkyria Profile 2: Silmeria, Yakuza 2 and... Aside from the ones mentioned, there are still another 2 DS, 3 PSP, and 28 PS2 games excluding my very few XBox and Gamecube titles. I also got quite a few PSX titles but my ps2 isn't backward-compatible and I don't feel like swapping places between my Gamecube and the fairly outdated psx. So many games, so little time. (laugh) Thus, there aren't many games left for my gaming devices. Even if there are still 15+ or so, most of the local game stores don't even sell them anymore.
