To everyone claiming for a sequel- Please let it go. It's clear Akamatsu's heart isn't there anymore and he doesn't know how to keep it going. Let the series die with at least some dignity left. |

Looks like no one here is able to believe what others say.
To me it's fitting that is ending, because Negi is no longer a teacher, so the series name, "Mahou Sensei Negima!," is meaningless now. But that doesn't mean a sequel or a spinoff of some kind can't come later. |

Fingers crossed for Mahou Shoujo Yue, then? Although I for one would go to disturbing lengths for a series on the adventures of Konoka and Setsuna. They're just so damn adorable.

But this is actually the truth: Negi no longer a teacher = the series name -> meaningless. So it has to end. |

But regardless of a sequel manga, the end of mahou sensei negima itself is going to be messy. A giant "too be continued" is not much of an improvement. |

As Keroko said, some of us do suspect of an incoming sequel. But that doesn't mean it will instantly make it fine, especially how things are handled lately - wasting chapters on character-derailing harem antics which ultimately went nowhere when it could be used to smooth the ending of the manga (regardless of the possibility of sequels) is just one of the latest worrying sign. Also, after reading a certain article, I also wonder if Ken plans to make an Ala Rubra prequel - instead of having Negi slowly uncover his parent's secrets, we will be shown what happened to them from their perspective. However, currently I'm not too warm with the idea because of two things: 1. Nagi is a classic Idiot Hero, and one of the main appeal of Negima is that Negi is anything but. Yes, he also has chronic hero syndrome, but the boy differs greatly from his father in that he analyzes and plans instead of going "Raarrgh, I'll just go hot-blooded and things will suddenly be so easy!" which is the staple of other shounen action mangas . 2. As Overmaster had pointed out, compared to Ala Rubra Ala Alba's performance at the Gravekeeper's Palace was lackluster, so much that they ended up needing aid from their predecessors. A story focusing on the older generation will only make the mediocrity more glaring.

I believe when there are well founded reasons.
What we do have now is an announcement Negima is ending, and nothing else. Absolutely nothing official at all has been said about any sort of sequels, so that's nothing but sheer wishful thinking for now. It wouldn't be the first time a manga ends up forever leaving all sorts of loose ends. The weight of presenting any sort of evidence lies with those saying "Sequel!", not the other way around. |

I wonder if Tertium is still around. I don't remember if Fate's age has been confirmed, but outside of the age pills, he doesn't seem to visibly age. I wonder if him being created by the Lifemaker would make him effectively immortal like Evangeline.

Not exactly but not far off. It involved around the idea that Negi could only pick one partner for himself as a permanent Ministra. Everybody else would forget about magic and go on with their lives as if nothing had ever happened to them.
The movie as a result, was appalling to the hardcore fans.
