I don't see what else it could be. The contraption is the very first thing shown in the intro during every episode, so it has to be important. And obviously when they referenced the Reiji in the one episode, it showed that thing again.

Unless I'm mistaken, the "treasures" that are inside each mistess are the same as the trinkets that give special powers to the Tomogara. So it would make sense that since Yuuji has the ultimate power inside of him, his treasure would be an elaborate contraption rather than something like a simple ring.

So the plan is to use Reijimaigo's property of "restoring the owner's "power of existence" back to full at midnight", Hecate directs its power of replenishment to herself (by "joining" herself with Yuuji), while the Prof's contraption continues to drain the replenished power, therefore, Reijimaigo will always continue to give out "power of existence". The drained power then overflows Seireiden and into the town, turning the place into a "fountain of existence".

By the way, the lines between Hecate and Yuuji:

Yuuji: "It feels so good..."
Hecate: "I feel it... It's filling me up..."

It resembles the function of a perpetual machine that keeps running on and on without no need for maintenance or recharge.

I was watching the episode watching closely for any signs of how hecate
would react to yuuji. Aside from commenting how much deeper his
emotions and memories were, she hasnt shown us much.

The next ep preview seems like its going to be just a battle scene.

So the question remains: is hecate going to join Yuuji's Harem or what?

Shana has not revealed what she plans to do yet either. Explode him
as is her destiny, or go against wilhelmina and try to save him.

I think Hecate will join the harem because what so you expect her to do once Shana kills the other 2 and break Yuji out.

And besides, you need all three races for it to be good. (Flame Haze, human and Tomogara)

Torches in general would be difficult because you would have to get one every time

Besides, aren't Flame Hazes similar to torches? So that should at least cover that aspect.

I don't think Flame Hazes are similar to torches. Torches are shells of people meant to momentarily reduce the shock that would occur if people simply started vanishing left and right.

Flame Hazes are human's who made a contract to gain powers(and I assume immortality) so that they could fight the Tomogara and maintain balance. If anything, a Flame Haze is more similar to a Tomogara(both control powers of existence, live forever, can use torches as a source of energy, etc).

They are similar only in the fact that they both aren't 'human' any longer.

I was thinking Chigusa would make a good addition to the harem(I'm a sucker for nice moms), then I rememberd she's Yuuji's mother... *shudder* bad thoughts. Very bad thoughts.

So who's in for sure? Shana, Kazumi, Hecate, hopefully Wilhelmina once things settle down. Hirai would probably have ended up in there too if it weren't for the whole dying thing in episode 2.

No, Wilhelmina will pretend to be a bodyguard until the right time strikes. She's got her sights on 2 targets. (Hecate and Yuji)

Well I'm thinking after everything's over there's going to be that long readjustment period where Wilhelmina has to get used to living an ordinary life at home, not trying to kill Yuuji.

It could be a spinoff series. Every time she picks up a knife or a fork, she gets the urge to stab Yuuji, but has to supress it. That is of course, until she realizes that she loves Yuuji.

I know who Yuuji really likes. Wilhelmina. It's always the ungettable one who tries to hurt you. It's a fact that he actually said "I love you, Wilhelmina" at one point in the story.




(Ignore the fact it took place in a side-story where Yuuji and Shana accidently swapped bodies and that Yuuji was only pretending to be Shana when he said it to distract Wilhelmina while they escape)

She is an orphan who was adopted by Alastor and Wilhelmina. This was discussed at some length a few pages ago during the flashback arc.
