Did those people grow up eating the normal junk food full of preservatives, pesticides, etc? If so, yes, organic food tastes "odd" to them. Any conversion to a whole foods diet, replacing white bread w/ wheat, etc, needs time to adjust, especially if you eat the way most Americans eat (over-processed, high sodium foods, etc).

Organic food is a lot dirtier, though. Since it cannot be fertilized with synthetic ammonia-based stuff, what do you think they put on it?
Might make you think twice before eating that organic vegetable. It might come with a side order of E. coli!

Well, sometimes it tastes better and sometime it's the contrary. It's not because it's organic, that's the taste will be better. It's like everything else, you can have good organic or bad one. What's really important is how it was culvitated because even if the taste is not better, it's better for your health.
One of the thing that I really like with organic shop is that they have many different food that you don't see in supermarket.

^I don't think he's joking. Where I grew up in Vietnam, I heard about this a lot. People use manure to fertilize the soil, but I don't know the procedure.
My dad told me a yucky story about back then, too. Some manure sellers sometimes dipped their finger into the manure, then dipped it on their tongue to taste the "quality" of it as fertilizer. My dad said that is stupid, lol.

For me the bell tolls

While buying veggies at a farmers market in Korea, I was warned by a friend that often farmers will use human feces for fertilizer...
I was obviously taken aback... but when you think about it, by the time it gets into the food, it's broken down and dissolved. The only issue is how well you wash it before you eat it. Fresh caught fish eat all kinds of disgusting creepy crawlies. Cows poop on the grass that they then eat, etc. It's a full cycle I've come to accept. I personally depend heavily on eating meat. I don't hunt, but I have killed my own bird meat before. |

Meat tastes so good, I'm not addicted or anything, I can stop anytime I want!! I don't have a problem!
OK seriously, I like meat, but I respect people who choose not to eat it and personally I should lay off of eating so much of it unless I want to buy the farm before I'm 50.
