I was one of the first few people to post in this thread but seeing how Victorian the character designs were I felt it would be cliché. I was recommended this show recently and was told it had bits of shonen in it. I watched the show and I was like wow

Quite different from what I had expected. I liked the settings Victorian/Roman it’s a wonderful how they have combined this together effortlessly adding an extra touch .Crimson wind aka Juliet reminded me of Don Juan Demarco’s costume for 90s movie .I did not know there was fantasy mixed in this there the Pegasus Romeo used was awesome .Hats off to the Animation and CG The scene where Romeo and Juliet escape was mind-blowing

It was amusing to see how well they have mixed Shakespeare into this with the playwright being William. Must be a tribute of sorts by the manga ka . His Seiyu has done an excellent job makes him a very interesting character. Character designs are good each character is unique also can’t be clichéd as Shakespeare characters the Seiyus chosen compliment the and add to create well rounded characters . Mercutio was slightly different from what I had imagined and thought off but it’s a positive

R&J being an intense drama its nice how the manga ka has added humor to dilute the drama i.e. Odin as a sheep and better Odin happy being a sheep . It was rejuvenating to see how love was expressed and asked . The naïve question by Odin the refusal by Romeo Though Romeo has lot of traits common the original Juliet is niche . I liked this one to the Shakespeare one . This Juliet is more believable and adorable its feels like a real person then a cardboard cut out

Even though I know what’s going to happen I want to see more sure signs of a great show. Even if you know the story you can see the anime just for art or the wonderful characters created . The op was melodious while the ed was rocking

Once a series gets licensed it becomes impossible for me to watch it. Though, I am sure someone will keep subbing it regardless so I really shouldn't worry.

And it's not Engrish, either. I'm amazed at the quality of their English prose. Isn't it sad when we have to praise Japanese for using good English? Although in this case, they went past proper grammar and spelling and even used some pretty flowery language there.

I don't believe it's been licensed already. Although I'm sure there will be plans to license the series once it's over.

On the other hand, if they have any RxJ merchandise at AX I am so buying! XD

forgive my intrusion on this thread, but is the show properly following the story shakespear wrote? or are they butchering the story to match the kid public special needs just like what they did with the terrible count of montecristo (aka gankutsuou).

It's not an adaptation. It's more like something inspired by the play. Even Gankutsuou followed the novel to a degree, this story does not follow the original play at all. It's an original story that has some of the themes of the play. If you are going to watch it, it's best not to compare the two at all.

Juliet,after being caught to the palace, was sentenced to death in the day after tomorrow. Curio and Francisco helped Juliet out of jail.
Hermione went to visit Juliet and ask her not to play with Romeo's heart,but Juliet said she loves him from all of her heart.(this round,Hermione seems to be the one who lose ^^''?
Romeo in his new shirt looks more mature and great.

Juliet was called by Escalus tree during her escape.She was sent back to the palace by the help of Ophelia and soon to be caught again by the soldiers,but Romeo came to help her. He told her to run away and promise to find a way to be with her together. He looks much mature than last episode.

Next ep.: seems Romeo will be punished by being sent to the frontier mine and do labor work. (Now he might be learning something else rather than being a prince and flying around the city like before)

no sign of Tybalt in this episode though...

I like how the anime is now becoming a pretty complete departure from the play. Romeo being sent to a labor camp, I don't think any of us saw that coming when we started watching this series. I think it will be very interesting how they develop the story now that the famous balcony scene's been done and they're married.

Yea, I don't see how they can possibly stretch it another 11-13eps. In the play all that's left is Mercutio to be killed and Romeo killing Tybalt and committing suicide.

this two episode was sooooo romantic
even at the balcony and chruch parts that made me cried

already read the summary of episode 13
glad that juliet got saved by Fransisco and Curio
next episode will be hard for Romeo
