Well, you are going from a mostly straight introductory episode to one that's full of chibi. Speaking of, the stream I caught was largely crap, so I'll save my final opinion until I see at least the raw, but I feel a bit less worried about how this show will handle humor after this episode.

And incidentally, the BD/DVD solicitations came out earlier today, and confirmed that the first "season" (such that it is) will be 12 episodes.

On the other hand, if they do end season 1 with your "plot-important girl", they'll have to end season 2 with the other plot-important girl, and that will really throw things out of chronology.

Honestly, I think ending each season with an arc that's actually relevant to the story is more important than strictly maintaining chronology. |

The anime just doesn't retain the charm.
That's probably partly attributed to the budget, unfortunately. Either way, pretty good episode. I wonder if this cour will end with the 4 girls in the OP. Hopefully, they'll fit some of the tangent stories in there as well. Haha, the ED was rather weird. |

Ooh, yours makes more sense. "our first real" can go both ways for me since I keep hearing "firstly" and sometimes the latter. The final line definitely sounds more like "Anyone could be a hero and heroine.", I can't hear "on the in or leave." no matter how hard I try, plus given context and sense-making it seems more fitting, and more audible imo. Great job deciphering the lyrics lol. I still have a ways to go before tackling Engrish.

Edit: I missed the line
Keima's dad goes overseas for trips and the fact that when confronted with the fact by his wife that he might have a illegitimate kid he said he had another trip so it makes it seem not so much Elsee's fault after all.

The Elsee scene transitions were awesome
I liked they way they adapted the more slapstick scenes too. Although I'm not so sure about Mio's voice... Spoiler for I see what they did there (spoiler for pointing out foreshadowing):
edit: loved the ed too.
