Uhh isn't the franchise fairly popular in Japan? S1 and all of the merchandise was probably a way to figure out if it was worthwhile. ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌

Never played the games and probably never will. But this anime was amazing, can't wait for the second season. Hope there'll be more Mitsuhide goodness, even though there probably won't be..

If I recall, wasn't he pinned to a wall and pretty much laughing while being burned alive. Anyway, I am digging the upcoming characters for the next season.

The first season's opening was one of my favorites so i'm looking forward to the next's

Hanbei was one of my favorites in 2 and I'm looking forward to how they animated his fighting style

Ah, how I longed for a proper feudal era, samurai-spirit pumped anime like this. Pride, honor, and impossible-to-pronounce names were oozing from this show. Thank you whoever did this. Thank you.

I don't want to hear a word about how the ending was so rushed, or how being an adaptation of a game resulted in poor bla bla bla, or how I how someone didn't appreciate the supernatural exaggerations of originally pure-swordsplay fights !!

Worst news ever.

Hopefully one of the groups will resist the C&Ds.

Is there a thread yet for the second season, or is it just going to continue in here?

Has anyone seen the R1 version? What do you think of the voices? I think they chose a great V.A. for Yukimura, Jonny Yong Bosh, and for once Greg Ayers is voicing a character who's voice doesn't sound like nails on a chalk board. Though I do wish they had a third option, where everyone was dubbed but Date, leaving his parts subbed, to show off his awesome Engrish.

Sengoku Basara on Blu Ray?

Haven't watched this anime yet. My friends tell me it's an impressive series due to the animation and action sequence. So I'm thinking it's similar to Gurren Laggen because that's very action heavy.

Anyway, just wondering if this is a "must have" for Blu Ray because of the animation/action or not?

Anyone help?
