GTFO out of the top ten, Kira! You too, Suzaku!
I'll never get why Saber is more popular than Tohsaka... she was alright, but she's kind of bland (both in character and in looks) compared to some of the other F/SN females. I don't mind Lacus... I really prefer Cagalli and Murrue, though. |

Haruhi left a lasting impression, and clearly the Haruhi boom was the biggest in a while, considering that Haruhi isn't something that really extends out of a specific otaku market, but even then, it's not Evangelion or First Gundam or Doraemon. Even the extremely popular FMA anime whose characters were the only ones that were able to top Lacus and Kira out of top spots didn't last so much more than a few months, and all it went downhills from there. Whether or not the Haruhi fever will last until the next season arrives is debatable, but at least it's not going to die anytime soon. I'm just content that Kira's top 5. Hopefully it'll stay that way.

Newtype is one of the "big three" anime magazines in japan (the other two being animedia and Animage)
and the gundam characters...humm..as far as i can remember, they have been dominating the polls ever since 2003... the main characters like kira yamato, "Athrun Zala and Lacus Clyne have always been in the top 5...and as Nightengale said, Even extremely popular characters such as Edward Elric and Roy Mustang weren't able to top Kira for more than a few months. from what i remember, from all the popular characters (from 2003 till now)only four of them were able to top Kira... - Edward Elric from FMA was the first one (in 2004)...he held the throne for 4 months i think - the second one was Athrun Zala from GSD(2005)he took over the place for 3 months. - the third one was Kyon from the Haruhi Suzumiya serie(2006) he barely won, and he lasted for one month.) -the last one to top Kira was Zero (2007) he lasted for one month. and about Lacus Clyne...i think no one besides Haruhi has ever topped her anyway, i wonder how long this seed domination will last

kallen and CC sure is having their own little tug of war fight but seriously i still have no idea how lacus is at the top...could it be that newtype is biased towards GS?

everything and anything is bias against Godamn fricking Seed
I don't even watch it, but it gets mentioned in CG threads on every bloody comment, i practically know the whole frigging story. people. STOP WITH THE GS comparison! ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! *flies to Japan, buys a 1 million yen worth of A+ class Gundam models, painstaking build and paint/spray/pose/photograph then fly back and throw then at GS-cursing-always-comparing-i-don't-give-a-flying-poo and burn the pictures and scatter the ashes all over them, with a thick covering of glue*

^ I support your rebellion. *waves a Rebelllion flag*
And let's include Death Note to the call, too... Oh, btw, for those who want character stats, here are some scans - dunno if they've been already posted. It's interesting to know that Lelouch actually has quite high stats...although Mister Bigwig's show that he's quite the all-around man. Characters' abilities, translated by a 4chan poster (bolds are my own comments): Quote:

From the top ten females, I can't really see how Karen tops C.C. For me personally, the top 4 females are way above the rest of the other 6 (even though I don't think Lacus should be at the top, though I can understand why). Cagalli is just bleh. Sure she vigorously defends her values, but when she speaks, she's just overdoing it and it prevents Kira from using his powers which actually have a more profound effect. Actions speak louder than words (unless you're a replica of Cagalli and can shout your lungs out til who knows when).

Omni's blog has links to a downloadable version too. EDIT: The discussion at Omni's blog now has links to more of that guy's (the one who created the "Harem OP") works (all using Code Geass clips), including an "Negima!?" op variant (with Lelouch as Negi , Kallen as Asuna, Euphemia as Konoka, and Cornelia as Setsuna), and a bishounen video (only male characters appearing). Random thought
I kinda feel sorry for the producers here about deciding the screen time for CC. Clearly they intended to make her one of the main characters, a woman in spotlight. However at the same time they can't really reveal much about her otherwise this series might end soon. So rightnow she ends up being the "cool" + "cosplay" + "fan-service" + "mysterious" helper to Lulu who have to tag along with him everytime she is going to have her screen time. or that might be their Lulu x CC's plan, I don't know.. |

Seems like the chances of finding anything out about CC and VV and company are getting lower and lower this season. It sometimes seems like the first half and second half of the season are 2 separate shows. A lot of the stuff they have been setting us up for, and the stuff we have been waiting for since the early stages, seems non-existent now (for this season).

They've potentially hooked alot of viewers for the second season. If they did reveal too much, they might potentially dissuade people from the show or even from buying merchandise relating to the show. This way, people will be interested in the action figures and stuff, and still relatively be interested in the rest of the show.
