If ever there was a filler episode in RxJ, episode 14 was it. Seriously, we already know Duke Montague is like the Duke Blue Devils, but I think they wasted money on this episode.

I digress with you. As far as the story has unfolded, mostly the focus was kept on Juliet and her surrounding people. Events such as the death of the doctor and the raid at the safe house put her world into perspective that tragedy and death are real, and the true world is full of cold and harshness. In order words, Juliet has been developing as an adult at a satisfying rate in order to search for her path to be together with Romeo. But this time, Juliet is preparing to pay the price and walk the thorny road full of tears, pain, and deception to reach the end.

Unfortunately, before this episode, Romeo could not do much save that he successfully helped Juliet to escape from the Keep. But he was put under the shadow of the Grand Duke's son. In summary, a noble boy who whimsically had his way to earn things without doing any effort to earn them, though that was as Petrucchio and the inmates at Gradisca thought they believe that's his true nature.

The complain I have about Romeo is that his outlook on the overall life is just too optimistic and positive.

Making wind promises that he'll improve the health and working conditions at Gradisca is just smoke to the ears of the inmates.

They have see it and experienced it for themselves. Life was turned to hell for them just because resorted on low ways to earn a living or food in order to support their families, yet the bastard of Montague and his noble's elite saw their acts as plainly criminal and barbaric, without minding a shit their reasons, and have them expelled of Neo Verona and life-sentenced as low scum at Gradisca.

This episode and the next one will be crucial in order to develop Romeo and be all witnesses to his growth as a full-fledged adult.

Petrucchio's death hit him hard, because Romeo has witnessed for the ever first time tragedy but at the same time experience it.

I guess he blames himself for being blind all this time about what was the crude reality for NeoVerona's citizens, while he as of recently lived a cozy and luxurious life of a noble.

This cements his resolve to search for the path that will enable both Juliet and him to be together, but the added burden that in order for that path to open up he has to pay blood, pain, tears, and sacrifice.

The good things and shining tomorrow in this world cannot come for free. One must put himself or herself through a traverse of hardships and deceptions, testing one's convictions and strength in order to survive that dreaded trek to earn his or her rewards.

For Romeo's case it is his hope that is being tested. He has to survive calamity in order to grow-up as a believable man upon the audiences' eyes, so we can root for him. And a true man for Juliet's sake.

I like episode 14 and 15,although there are very few romantic scenes. (Is this still Romeo and Juliet?)
The drawing in episode 16 was so hideous and crapped. Like different characters >_< it this GONZO's quality? Brrrrr.....

People who loves Tybalt will see his comeback in the next episode.

Episode 15 was really really good in my opinion. Although the Romeo and Juliet scenes were satisfying themselves, I really looked forward to Romeo's character development. We've explored Juliet's past and present thoroughly, but nothing is really known as Romeo and as people said in the past, he has no role except to flirt with Juliet and fly on his pegasus. I'm just glad that I got to see more of Romeo and his true character in action.

WTF?!!!! Montague is a Capulet. O___O And Tybalt is his son and Romeo's half-brother. I suppose this makes BOTH Romeo and Tybalt related to Juliet, though I'm not sure how closely related they are. Montague's mother just says Montague's father is from the Capulet clan...she doesn't specify who it is exactly before she dies.

Tybalt's mother is the woman in the Capulet family portrait....so that means she is a Capulet as well?

a lot of royal families intermarry with one another to keep the blood "pure" and/or to retain power in the same group of people. I think in this case Romeo and Juliet are probably distantly related...somehow.

I had a hard laugh when I saw this episode 16. animation was really broken down and it established the GONZO QUALITY.

I was somewhat disappointed with the development for the conclusion to episode fifteen.

Spoiler:

It was just too light, that actually there were no casualties.

It would had made more of an impact that either Pietro or Giovanni died on Romeo, while he gave his best shot to find the way out for all of them to survive but learning with horror that the real world is just cruel.

Well, I guess that Petrucchio's dead has pushed Romeo to cement his resolve on building the promised loved for both he and Juliet to live together. But, still it was a condescending conclusion for the denizens at Gradisca.

What caught my attention were the activities regarding Escalus.

Spoiler:

I strongly believe that it was not an earthquake which shook the continent, but Escalus screams of agony for the sinful actions of Montague, taking its toll on innocent people.

In episode 12 the old man, who was met by both Romeo and Juliet, explained to them that the tree found far away from Neo Verona died long ago.

I think that both Escalus and its twin were needed to hold the continent. Escalus likely is deteriorating, and Juliet can feel it.

The Carabinieri continue to piss me off. I wonder when someone will give them the punishment that they deserve, particularly the jackass captain, whose name I already forgot due that I don't care if he gets killed.

Thankfully, the guards that were stationed at the mine quickly realized that the mine was lost after the earhquake struck, and there was nothing else they could do to repair it back.

More so, particularly that in their current location, isolated from communication and other means of contact for supplies, the heck they won't longer give a damn about the mine but started to worry about their own lives.

Even more thankful, that they joined forces with the prisoners to treat the wounded rather than scattering away in fear.

And Benvolio again acted smart and brave to lead Cordelia into escape from the Carabinieri.

Spoiler:

The more that they have started to focus on those two, the more it encourages the thought on me that they'll fall for each other pretty soon.

In fact, Cordelia got a little shy when she noticed after the racket that Benvolio was holding her hand steadily.

I just came here to post the same thing. The painting of the 16th episode is terrible. Really GOD AWFUL. I personally guess that's because a Chinese or Korean external studio was responsible for it.

Whether they live or die at the end of the series I think it will have a big impact in both Escalus and the fate of Neo Verona. I have come to like both characters and I would like them to have a happy ending, but then would it be Romeo and Juliet?
