They were friends and they probably still are, it not confirm wether they date before her father death.(unless your talking about their first date in stage 12 not long after her father's death)

That almost certainly was their first date. Lelouch's reaction to it ("What's with her all of a sudden?") pretty much spells it out.

I didn't like that pairing to begin with(btw y isn't LelouchxShirley on the pairing list?) It almost like a crime if they're to love each other

This is the third romance thread. ShirLulu was on the first two, but it was removed after she died.

i didnt like the pairing either (i'm a kalulu man, so duh)
but in ep 12-13 of R2 i started seeing the potential (the trick she used to get suzaku out of the way was sweet)
if she had been let in on the secret she could have made a powerfull ally in keeping it and helping deal with the school angle
but then rolo had to get testy and that was put to an end

I don't see how Shirley could be that much help if she knew. Aside from getting rid of Suzaku, who's never there anyway, Sayoko had things handled pretty well.

she could help keep the secret
and help deal with suzaku on a regular basis (and if sayoko is there as lelouch, it makes it even less likely if sherly is there with her as lulu's girlfriend)
she's not a black knight (and should never become one)
but there are other uses then just as part of an army

Well it a good ending for her don't u think? she gets to talk to him one last time and I believe she didn't to want live because she hold on to Lelouch's phone when he was trying to call for help.

Again, Suzaku's never there. He's always participating in meetings and such. There's no need to deal with him. Everything else is trivial.

its a sucky ending both for her (she didnt deserve it) and for lelouch since it triggers the events of the cult massacre (a very big selling point for the betrayel in ep 19,at least for toudo)

it also effects his relationship with kallen since he seems to have learned his lesson and applies to her the same treatment he failed to apply to sherly rather then be upfront about his deceisions
his response in ep 19 shows what he does when faced with the prospect of losing kallen in the same way he lost sherly (I.E giving up his own life to save hers) which would probably be his actions if he was given a choice to save sherly
so in that regard i dont really like how that one ended at all

i still think that she would have been able to help in some ways
dealing with both the KOR's that were there
fishing for info from suzaku (questions he couldnt ask)
serving as destractions
helping sayoko get a better portrail of lulu's character
and most importently supporting lulu emotionally (which was something he didnt have much of at that point)

I totally agree with that.
I don't like pairings, but I really like the thought of Lelouch having more people he can trust and rely on.

Fair enough on that last part. The KoR weren't there to snoop, though. Gino was there to have fun, and Anya simply followed as she does. Sayoko isn't the type to change, as Lelouch notes. Rolo couldn't exactly curb her, so Shirley wouldn't have much more luck. Aside from that, there wouldn't be that much to do.

IMO, Shirley just being there at Lelouch's side would have done a lot....

No doubting that. Certainly would have kept him on a more direct path. Would have made for some nice three-way scenes later on, too.

I think almost anyone being there for LElouch would have done a lot not necessarily shirley.

This is one of the major reason why Kallen was taken away from Lelouch during the Massacre arc i mean Kallen would have knock some sense into him.

I think that anyone who was close to Lelouch, including Kallen and Milly, would have stopped him. Even if it meant Kallen beating the crap out of Lelouch with her bare hands. I guess this is why Lelouch didn't want Milly or Rivalz to get close to him. And besides, I don't think that he wanted to hurt Milly or Kallen in any way with his plans because of what happened to Shirley.

Oh, darth, your optimism toward Milly being more than a side character is nothing less than inspiring. He'd never think to involve her, and if he ever did the first thing he'd probably do would be to stick her with Diethard. Those two would work well together, I think.

The real question is how well Diethard would cope with Milly as his partner. It takes an incredible amount of patience to put up with her schemes, after all. Alas, that's not what this thread's about.
